car reg. no car history

just wondering about the idea of people on the site identefying their cars reg. no (or chassis no.)
on the site, so as to provide new ATR owners and club members with link to the cars previous service
history and owners. sometimes the service history alone does'nt reflect the full history of the car
(lost receipts, omissions) etc.
just an idea................maybe a stupid one :dunno:

not sure that would be a good idea as to people cloning as all the info would be there for the taking etc and u find most people on here blank there number plate when taking pics :dunno:

To be honest, if someone is going to go through the trouble of cloning a car
they aren't going to have many problems finding reg plates.

As for car history, if you buy from a forum member you can always trace all their
posts to see what has happened to their car.

For example when i was looking at buying my ATR i could retrace previous posts of the cars
i was interested in buying, i managed to find out parts replaced, detailing etc...

I do know there is another post that details any damage or write offs that forum members
know of that has happened to ATR's.

Would not think this is a good idea. Like Rhys has stated previous records of the car can generally be found from posts/topics held by the member. :agree:
