I'm new here so hello to everyone. I will soon be the owner of a 99 Accord 1.8i LS nighthawk black (picking up this weekend), I know big come down compared to an ATR but due to my lack of work (cant afford the tax & insurance etc) so I am starting low down on the scale but would like to tart my 1.8 up and need some advice as I'm pretty much a new comer when it comes to modding.
I have the oportunity to go to a salvage garage this weekend on the way home with the car who is currently breaking an ATR so wondering about what kinda of prices I will be looking at for certain parts as I dont want to get ripped off.
If any more informed experienced buyers could help I would be extreemly greatfull.

1. First thing I'd like to get are the skirts whats a good price for side/rear/front?

2. Would love the HID headlights that the ATR has but would prefer to be legal so how hard would it be to retro fit the headlight washer system and suspension sensor system and how much to get from breakers?

3. is £400 good for the Recaro interior setas/door cards, would I need the center console from ATR to fit?

4. how much for the fog lights (preface lift) do I need the wiring loom and switch? or does the LS already have it?

5. interior trims & gear knob?

6. not sure about getting the twin piped exhaust system is it hard to fit on standard Accord?

7. really would like a mesh grill like the preface lift ATR but alas the salvage place has already sold it has anyone here got one for sale?

I have heard that lowering can improve the handling of the Accords but wanted to know would I just need springs like Eibach, or would I need to change the shocks aswell?

jeez I don't ask for much do I!

Thanks guys hope you can gimme some heads up.

Welcome about :)

3. Sounds like a fairly normal price from what I know. But yes you do need the centre console, as the standard UKDM accord ones are wider.

4. Fog lights tend to be like gold dust, so praces vary depending on if they are taking the piss or not I'm afraid.

8. Even my old sport greatly benefitted from a transplant of ATR shocks with standard springs. They should be a drop in replacement. Will lower it, and give you much better handling.
Hey presto, its a rarebit!

1. First thing I'd like to get are the skirts whats a good price for side/rear/front? I think they go for about £50 each :!:

2. Would love the HID headlights that the ATR has but would prefer to be legal so how hard would it be to retro fit the headlight washer system and suspension sensor system and how much to get from breakers? Do you have to have the washers :dunno: Just fit the HID's

3. is £400 good for the Recaro interior setas/door cards, would I need the center console from ATR to fit? £400 seems good for the seats AND cards :agree:

4. how much for the fog lights (preface lift) do I need the wiring loom and switch? or does the LS alreinady have it? Dont know what price but, you will need the 'loom' (or get someone to fit new cables) and switch if it is a retro fit or buy the fogs and get someone who knows what they are doing to knock you a circuit up :agree:

5. interior trims & gear knob? gear knob is titanium on pre's, so about £40/50 Trim.... not sure? See number 3 :dunno:

6. not sure about getting the twin piped exuphaust system is it hard to fit on standard Accord? It can be done and fitting is relatively cheap IIRC ;)

7. really would like a mesh grill like the preface lift ATR but alas the salvage place has already sold it has anyone here got one for sale? Try the wanted section..... or modify yours ;)

I have heard that lowering can improve the handling of the Accords but wanted to know would I just need springs like Eibach, or would I need to change the shocks aswell? IMHO, just do the springs, it will improve the handling. Coilovers are the better option, but, no disrespect, I personally cant see the point in you shelling out for those :agree:

jeez I don't ask for much do I! not really

Thanks guys hope you can gimme some heads up.

Don't touch it :!:

Take all the money you would be spending and place it in a savings account. Leave the money mount up which would have been spent on mods/insurance etc....

And before you know it you'll have enough for a real ATR.

Simples :p

:withstupid:

Whatever mods you make dont expect the same return when you come to sell. At the end of the day its still an Accord 1.8.

Sorry if thats harsh but I've done it before and regretted it. One of my first cars was a Ford Escort 1.6 and spent a fortune on all the XR3i bits, have to admit a damn good learning experience but lots of ££££.

Hondata S300 - bhp? No idea, must be 210 at the wheels...
