Hi all

I'm Mark 37 live in nottingham i've always been into modifing cars , I started with minis ,from engine building , head porting , you name it i've done it . then i moved into jap cars i've had 3 R32 , evo 1 , gto , scooby then i got made redundent and needed something cheap to insure and run so i got my first honda it was a 1.6i SR civic coupe with a little sohc 16Y8 engine it was faultless , great to drive not very quick it took 17.2sec 1/4 mile at pod 79.5 mph lol (never been so slow on a strip). So i that had to go lol. I had arranged to go and see afew evo's 1s and a couple of 4s they were all nailed , till i got the the last place when i got there he had two evo 1s and in the corner minding there own bisness two black honda accord type R's , when looking around the evo my attention kept being pulled towards the R's , he wanted 2.5k for the K reg evo 1 and 2k for a V reg 2000 ATR with 142k long mot. So i took the evo out very quick , then i took the ATR out and for a N/A engine it was unbeleaveable , So i said no way to the evo and came away with the honda it just great ,so quick , it had the yellow engine light on but looking on here soon sorted that problem ,EGR valve and intake manifold plate full of carbon (weired idea lol)cleaned that , reset ecu has told on here, So all is good .

Welcome matey
There are three types of people in this world - those who can count, and those who can't.

To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short

Thanks for the great welcome guys.

I plan to do afew changes its already got a good cold air induction kit fitted. So i'll go along and do the normal basic stuff like brake pads up-grades (red stuff all the way lol) Then some apex lowering springs as the type R shocks are up-grated anyway (had enough of hard coilover set ups now). De cat , It needs a cat back performance exhaust but there are sooo pricie for new ones . So that might have to wait abit . Don't really want it too loud really (want the quite life now lol). Apart from them afew things , think that will be it. There fast enough as they are . I might tweak the dizzy abit but we'll see. I always rolling road a new car when i get it , then do afew mods to see any inprovements before i look at doing big changes like manifolds , intake porting , larger thottle body etc . I'll only re-map a turbo car , don't see the point in paying £400/500 to re-map a N/A engine to get 5 to 8 bhp (but thats my opinion only) whats the point.

I have found this site very helpfull and i'll always try to find threads myself before i ask lol. But i remember that some people don't know everythink about there cars or don't even know the basic's . I didn't when i started messing with cars , thats why its good to ask and get help off the people who do. As long as they remember that they didn't know when they first started ether and needed to ask themselves lol.
Yes it will fit in there , trust me lol.

I have EBC Yellowstuff pads fitted and they're not very good tbh. I've heard bad things about Redstuff too. :sad3:

The recommended pads on here for the ATR are Ferrodo DS2500. ;)

A Decat is also a very cheap and effective mod, if you buy one through a forum trader. :agree:

I will be having my old decat for sale, hopefully soon and then I'm saving up for my 2.5" exhaust to match my header. So my Mongoose will go for sale as well. :agree:

PS what type of CAI have you got fitted?
