Hi everyone,

a little intro to get me started^^
My name is Jan-Henk, and I loved honda before i could even drive^^
oh yeah I'm Dutch :p

when I was 19 I started getting driving lessons in a Merc... boring... anyway after 6 months my instructor got fired since he was an alcaholic (and not the recovering type)
like I said I loved honda before I could drive, a m8 saw a CRX and told his dad to buy it for me... I got over and there was the CRX i went inside and his dad tossed me the keys.... that'll be 1500 Euro's enjoy..
slighty flabbergasted I took the car out and learned how to drive... until my sister stole my keys and hid them in the freezer... and there was my honda rotting away... to make matters worse when I resumed my driving lessons my dad called a garage and got it scrapped... well it was worth scrapping but still I was really sad.

I finally got my driving license and bought a Del Sol Esi (slightly modified *cough* *cough*)
been driving that for about 3 years well driving... mostly replacing parts.

I just gave my Del Sol to a close friend of mine for the same price a scrapper would give me, he knew what was wrong with it and he still wanted it so although its weird I'm really happy for him... kinda

well who can't help being happy after making a grown man jump up and down like a kid after taking it around the block^^

I gave the car to him because I finally have a Honda ATR yahoo... kinda weird how I got it but still Yahoo.

A few punks tried to steal my rims 2 weeks ago... after they had put their tools down I got dressed walked to the shed got the biggest spanner I could find and went to say hello.... hehe they didn't like me^^

in the end they did steal my emblem and driving without it made me feel like I lost a part of my dignity So I went to the dealer ordered a new one and 2 days later came back to pick it up... with my parts in my hand I went to say hi to the sale guys... do you guys have a smile on my face for me?

what do you mean?
Well I'm driving that junker, its ugly its almost always broken but when I drive it I have a smile on my face.
well one sec... We have a Honda ATR want to take a look?
An accord I know I said before I wanted a backseat but isn't this a bit much?
just walk around it for a bit think about it and let me know if you want a test drive...
I walked around it and started asking questions, questions he couldn't answer^^
He got the mechanic that always maintained it and I started asking the same questions again... what kind of engine are we talking about?
H22A7
Double wishbone?
yes
0-60 in 7.2?
yes.
Fun to drive?
he hesitated... well to be completely honest I took it to the meeting last sunday and well I hated the fact I could only Demo it and not drive it on the track I really enjoyed it.
what are you driving?
civic 1.8 VTI
Is it clean?
yes everything is close to perfection.

Okay Tom give me the paperwork.
what paperwork?
the sales stuff and the money stuff... you know paperwork.
okay uhm I can't really give you a discount you know this is not a normal car and... and...
just give me 700 off and make sure its nice and tidy.
and your NOT getting my Del Sol!

uhmm okay uhh lets uhh...
pa-per-work.
oh yes here are some forms to fill out and blah blah blah...

I'm picking it up on friday.

don't you want a test drive?
why, Its a Honda right?
uhm... oka---y...

So I picked it up this afternoon drove 60 miles just for the sheer fun of it... came back and just told the sales guy:
Someone who drives a Honda will like his next Honda and those that drive crap can't drive a Honda.

he was impressed and they want me to drink coffee there every few weeks now^^

I really like the way it drives, I love the sounds it makes and the comfort it gives you knowing you can always smoke the guy next to you.

there is just one thing I have to admit, knowing my Del Sol like no other car and testing how this ATR drives on a tight track my Del Sol can smoke my ATR the fat assed ATR can't corner like the Del Sol now I have to admit I did kinda put racing suspension under the Del Sol so I can't blame it for being faster in the corners but I never touched the engine (next to some airflow stuff) still the H22A7 VTEC blows the Del Sol out of the water^^

oh yeah wow long intro post.

I seem to have a limited edition (Duh) I own number 16/50 and I know where number 44/50 is and its for sale^^

My m8 will prolly buy it though seeing that he was giggling like a schoolgirl next to me while I was testing it out a bit^^

I have a degree in Political Science, which is essentially reading and interpreting waffle, and people's dithering opinions, but even I struggled to understand what you were going on about there :dunno:

Anyway, glad you are happy and welcome to the board :agree:
Hey presto, its a rarebit!

Trust me no one can follow me:p

the entire point its sales people try to sell you stuff... when buying a Honda you don't need them:p
you don't need anything other then the knowledge that Honda made it^^

I really am happy with my ATR and it really feels like its my car, if I had to test drive it I might have doubted buying it but just knowing its Honda was enough^^

a good car is hard to find a good Honda is always around the corner^^

What's the 0-60 time according to your experience? (assuming that you can do this properly) :agree:

Apparently Evo magazine have the ATR officially timed at 6.1 secs for 0-60 :dunno:
