Hi there everyone

Just thought i'd say hi, looking to get an ATR in the next 6 - 12 months, so just getting my research in and looking for info really. Currently own a Primera GT, which is a great car, but just feel the need for the extra power and looks that an ATR brings!!

I'm down in Cornwall as well, many members down this way?

Cheers

Tom

Joe blob (tim) owns an atr and a primera GT, so can give you an honest comparision. :agree:

He is from truro, so you will understand each others accents perfectly without the need for a translator....

Whereabouts in cornwall are you from? I've passed through before.... :D

Very true, always get my oil from there for the GT, just round the corner from my work so very handy, and their prices are good too!!

Have you still got a bike? I used to have a ZX-6R, G2 model, but got rid about 3 years ago now, think the bike brought out my irresponsible side!!

And it is a lot bigger than people think, i always think mainly because of the lack of roads connecting everywhere, just means it takes you a lot longer to get anywhere!!

GT to ATR is the switch I made after 4 years with my mystic GT. Infact Tim has my old GT and it's still going strong as far as I know.

The GT is a great car for the price but once you drive an ATR you will get addicted. My GT was slightly modified and felt as quick as the ATR... until the VTEC kicks in

The handling on the GT is pretty good, but the ATR is a different world. I would say it is the perfect next step if you like the GT.

You have to drive the ATR hard to get the most of it, but then you don't buy a Type R and keep it below 4k rpm!

You will find that it uses quite a bit more fuel. My commute used to average out at 38 mpg in the GT, now I average out at about 28 mpg of SUL.

Do your research on them before you buy one and make sure you get a well looked after example and you will love it more than you love the GT :agree:

Very much the same as the GT really!!

Thanks matey, you're still on NPOC a bit aren't u? I've met Tim's wife at a couple of meets we've had, your old mystic is in safe hands!! :agree:

I love my Primera, but as i said, would just like the extrfa bit of power, and after seeing ATR's going round castle combe at Japfest, i wanted one even more!!

Yeah I still take a look on NPOC every so often.... but most of the people I communicated with are moving on too.

The GT does asked to be thrashed up to about 6k rpm, but the ATR just starts winding up at 6k.... you feel like you have to VTEC it in every gear...

The ATR has the extra power you want where you want it. If you like revs, then it is perfect :agree:

I don't currently own a bike, but occasionally rent a K7 suzuki GSX-R600 to get my fix. I usually pick a destination near a national park, book a hotel then hit the road for a little adventure.... 8)

I'm not sure I'd get the most out of a bike rental as I haven't ridden for 8 years :o

My previous bike was a GSXR600, how much is it to rent one for the day and where from?
EG6 VTi
ATR
S2000
All kept standard

I have to say, if i hired a bike, even after only 3 years off one, i'd be in a ditch in 10 mins i expect, looking through bike magazines, a 2009 600 has the same power as like a 98 fireblade or gixer thou!!

Would love to own one again though!

Welcome in :hello2:

Good luck with your search, and as for reasearch, you have found the right place to be.

In answer to your question about Championship White ATR's, they were never sold in the UK, so you'll only find Left hookers or resrayed ones - There's 2 I'm aware of that have been resprayed, and an unconfirmed report of a third

£85 a day from Chipping Ongar/stondon massey £1000 excess though if you happen to drop it. :o

Stonking good fun and the bikes are always in tip-top condition. :agree:

Many of their customers are tourists/foreign and rent the bikes for pleasure. 8)

They have a CBR600RR, a GSXR600 and some red Ducati thing, probably a litre bike.... :dunno:

The 600's they have are around 110-120bhp and about 170-180kgs
