Hello *waves*

I'm about to embark on the purchase of an ATR...yay!

I've only wanted one for like, four years or something daft like that

Anyway, the search for an immaculate Pirates Black with circa 60k on the clock and FSH goes on...

I'm happy to buy one with up to 80k on the clock, I know they're all mainly high milers, but I do have my reasons for wanting one with lowish miles on it :)

Welcome in :hello2:

Its a shame mine isn't for sale because it fits your bill to a T at 63K miles

As others have said, don't get too caught up on the mileage as the h22a7 engine is good for well into the high hundred K's and beyond (if well looked after)

Have a look around, but if you are sticking to a Pirates Black with around 60K on the clock, be prepared to pay for it :agree:

I acidentally became "Meh", I'm supposed to be Milford_Cubicle but I became confused with all this user name and screen name malarky

I'm going to look at a red ATR on Sunday which has 62k miles on it. There are a few which have sparked my interest, but they're all the "wrong" colour!!!

I won't part with my cash until I find the right car anyway, I have up to 5k to spend :)

Black is a good starter colour... After a few years you can work up to Silver!

Where are you based? I'm sure we've got someone near you somewhere....

Having owned a PB back in 1999 I can fully understand your desire to seek the perfect one out :agree:

Got to be honest, PB looks fabulous, when clean..! I drive a pre Silver now and have to say that it is not only a pleasure to drive, it's p1ss easy to keep clean. Wash once a week and good wax every month and she looks a million dollars. Personally, I wouldn't get so hung up on searching for a low mileage PB.

best of luck anyhow :agree:

Thanks for the welcome :)

I live in the North East of this tiny isle, the UK. I'd prefer not to have a silver car because I have a silver one at the moment. Red would be ok, but OH has a red MX-3 which means we'd have two cars the same colour. So, black it is! That, and I like the PB, it's a lovely colour :D

I'm not usually this girlie, but the colour choice on this one is a little important. However, it does come after how the car has been cared for during its life!!

*goes to look at Kjco57s ATR*

I went to see an absolutely gorgeous red one today....62k miles and absolutely mint. Not PB, but there's not many around right now!

The only (tiny) issue is that the clutch has a squeak when setting off in first - apparently this is common and doesn't mean it's new clutch time (not that it would be an issue)?

What I forgot to mention is that I'm currently looking for a "fun" car, I've always wanted an ATR but I'm tempted by an MX-5 (I've had two already and driven several, fabulous cars they are!!) so I'm in the deliberation stage of "OMG WHAT CAR SHALL I GET?!?!?!?!"

Mines squeaked (or more like squawked) for the last two years. I think it only needs some Moly grease on the bush. But it's not got any worse, and doesn't seem to affect the clutch in any way.
