Hi All,

Ive been reading on the forum for a while and speaking with Ed, and i thought id pop on and say Hi. If any of you are on MLR, ITR-DC2, or ITR-DC5 will no me as my username is always "Jayk"

Ive known Ed for years mainly through his brother as i was tracking Saxo's with him when i was 17. So its of great news that he knows his Accords and runs the forum :)

I love Honda, ive had 3 JDM DC5's, 2 UKDM DC2's, 1 JDM DC2. Thats as far as my Honda History goes but ive had 2 VX220 N/A's, 1 VX220 Turbo, 1 Saxo VTR (track), X2 106Gti's. 172 Cup, I think thats it!

I bought an EVO IX FQ340 last year December as i hit 24 and the Insurance was "ok" and it was stolen in May this year. Gutted. Now im driving a Volvo C70 Cabby i took of my folks :( and my Honda CBR 600 RR :)

The ATR Story.

So a couple of weeks ago i went to my mates garage inlinemotors, with my cousin who has a Black ATR about mildly boosting it. After speaking for a while my mate suggested i get an ATR as ive not had one and he would boosted it for me. So a day later i bought one, the day after that it was in his workshop. He was shocked!

Its currently being built, and were not really aiming for a power figure, but building it to a a good spec and we'll see what we get, estimate is 500whp, engine is being built for 750hp, and to rev to 10,000rpm, but my mate likes to have large tolerances on all engines he builds, we will run it 9,000rpm. It should be done in around a month.

The bottom end from a JDM Prelude 2000 year Type S is curerntly being machined and sleeved with a Darton MID Kit. I should have some pictures later on in the week as were pulling the engine out of the ATR. Pistons, Rods, Bolts, Bearings, etc and Valve train parts arrive next week.

Clutch is our only delay at the moment, Clutchmasters FX700 Stage 7 Twin Plate is currently being made as they have no stock!! :(

I'll keep you all posted as you seem a rather nice collective :)

Thanks
Jay

aye mate, traction will be a problem no doubt. but will try and run a wide tyre on a 16" rim with a higher profile, alot of welding to strengthen things up, tractions bars etc.

hopefully mapping either hondata, aem, or linkg4, and on them you can either map boost by gear, or by VSS. So should help. if not conventional boost contorller.

no i wouldnt, ive never used them before, so i dont know how they would work with the atr. the link g4 requires a harness making, but the hondata and aem is plug and play.

i think were going AEM.

Hi Stu,

The RR3 is certainly hardcore, but it depends on how your riding it, i only take it out for a blast, and use A-roads. Im used to it, but i think if you were coming from a GSXR you would find it uncomfortable.

Jay

I think the RR is suited to skilled riders and track. I felt the thing was always trying to throw me off.
the throttle is very sensitive and suspension is jarring on bad roads. The Gixxer seems to have softer suspension and a better riding position for those above 5'10. :agree:

If you can ride it, then kudos for that as it scares the crap outta me!

Is it an 07 model ? :dunno:

Hi Paul, i was browsing but thought it was time to say hi :)

Stu, ive only been riding since April. Yes it does feel like your going to get thrown of, but if you have the confidence it has plenty of grip, and fishtailing is actually quite entertaining :) Ive hit som bumps on B-roads and smashed my nads into the tank, not good!!

Yeah im 5'8, so pretty much perfect, although the handle bars are very low.

Its an RR3 2003, but as usual ive modded it lol.
