hello all,

I recently picked up my ATR last week.. and already I am having issues.. so my car has 110,000 on the clock and out of no where I started to hear the diesel noise. I took off the valve cover to inspect the belt it looks pretty loose. I can almost slide the belt off the cam sprockets. I have since parked it untill my Timing belt kit comes in along with my new clutch. I have a few other issues as far as the Auto tensioner when I do replace it what else will I need besides the Tensioner.. local shops in the area want to charge me 600 euro for the job.. how hard is it?

YES!!! we are getting an influx of left-handed ATRs.. WELCOME :wave:

the best thing to do in this situation, it just to sell me your ATR, prefferably really cheap :lol: :evil4:

:hello2: . Welcome. If you are going to do get the belts and tensioner done then you might as well do the water pump as well.

I see you are doing your clutch as well so you might as well get lightened flywheel unless you are leaving your car standard.

thanks for the reply guys, I was doing some trouble shooting between today and yesterday ruled out it is not the timing belt.. I think I took the valve cover off and check the tension on the belt, it looks fine and is holding good tension I am actually hearing the tick come from the back side of the engine sounds like one of the intake valves is having a bit of trouble. I am going to be doing the Valve Clearance either today or tomorrow if weather permits. Bloody rain is killing me. Just to clarify its not a diesel sound just regular valve tick. but have since ordered new timing belt and Clutch from the states for 350 USD shipped

sorry on the pictures fella's I am not german bit just live there I had to fly back home to visit my family so I have been a little preoccupied for the moment, but I will get some as soon as I return back to my home in germany.
