New ATR Owner

Hi All,
Been looking for a family car as my wife is pregnant and I stumbled across a very well looked after 2001 Red ATR with 79k miles. Bought it immediately after the test drive. This is my first Honda, and I'm really impressed with the whole car, especially the engine!!!

Won't be modding it as it is going to be a family car, but will probably refresh the suspension with OEM stuff, and the clutch is sometimes making a whining sound when I set off in first so that will need doing at some point to. It's got an daft richbrook gearknob as well, but it seems that the OEM gearknobs are very rare and expensive!!

One thing I have noticed is that the accelerator pedal is miles away from the brake. Can the pedals be easily adjusted to narrow the gap?

Anyway, the forum has been a great help in my first couple of weeks of ATR ownership and I'm sure will continue to be for a long time.

Glad you're liking your new car. :agree:

What size feet are you? You must have very small feet. The ATR pedals Imo are perfect.

As with the whining noise, it could be the gear box oil need changeing.

I still use mine as my family car. Its dropped on coil overs, braced up and a few other odds and ends done to it. :agree:

Ideal family car if you ask me. :D

My feet are size 11. Just struggling to heel toe on my downshifts. Always blip the throttle with the outside of my foot. Will just have to learn how to do it properly I suppose :oops:

Thanks for the advice on the Gearbox oil. Will get some Redline put in before I start forking out for a new clutch.

Lots of people struggle with the clutch moan matey. :)

You could get some of those eletronic damping adjust TEINs so when have the family in the car adjust to soft. Then at the touch of a button put them in silly stiff mode when you're alone. Probably come to about the same price as the OEM new.
