First things first loverly Teg that is mate. And yet those seats are VERY rare as i'm currently sourcing a pair for my next project and i'm struggling.

Anyhow welcome in and out of that list i'd say an ek9 isn't going to suit your needs tbh and out of that list i'd be looking at the E36,Cupra or the ATR. I'll vouch for the ATR as a motorway beater as after traveling to Edinburgh and back in a day from Accrington (about 500miles) without any sort of hassle, aches or pains and my ear drums intact.

Having owned both the Lcr and ATR I would say that the ATR Is a far better car than the boring Lcr and the accord is better on fuel and faster oh and far more fun.

Sorry i thought he was on about the TDI version, yes still boring but i guess essentially the same as my mk5 Golf so comfy and decent MPG plus with a little tweaking can be suprisingly quick.

yeah he did mention one of the main things being for his daily commute stop start traffic, cupra wins the one i think, the lack of sound deadenen in the atr doe get to you if you dont like listening to loud music.

Very nice Teg. Think i have seen for sale on other forums. Love the yellow recaros which ultra rare and sell for a fortune in the states.

Atr is just a bigger Teg with more comfort, less road noise, 4 doors and a big boot but not as good on fuel as the Teg.
In times of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

We use to have a LCR Mk1 remapped to 280bhp wth blueflame exhaust and panel filter.

It was stupidly quick - but the chasis on them is shyt and flimsy and we had a nuespeed ARB too. In the end, got traded in for an Evo Viii which ended up with 400+ bhp which was traded in for an EP3 which was sold a week later :D (Which was crashed and written off with the new owner a few minutes after)

Moral of the story: Get an ATR :D

Thanks for all your replies guys, it's been a great help.

I had a long chat with Matt [ab20000] about his ATR - if I decided an ATR was the car to go for, I reckon Matt's would be the one to have! He mentioned a lot of you guys having seen the car and to ask your opinion?

I didn't realise the ATR had all the sound-proofing removed, like my teg, which could be the deciding factor? I think my choice is gonna come down to the Accord or EP3 [the E36 328 being so hard to come by, the LCR being to expensive, RB5 is gonna cost a whole bunch to run, Corrado to old [maybe]]?

EP3 positives - 6 gears good for mpg and motorway trips, pretty quiet and relaxed in normal use. Negatives - they are bloody everywhere and don't have the same driving involvement as the ATR.

ATR positives - rare and exciting and I'm sure a right laugh to drive. Pretty close to my teg I guess? Plus I figure it would be a better cruiser than my DC2? Negatives - 5 gears [man I hate having to consider mpg] and might be to loud [I can't believe I just wrote that!!!].

I was just wondering if anyone living in the Midlands would take me out for a spin in their Accord [I actually life in Worcester]. Being a passenger would still give me any idea of how solid it feels compared to a DC2 etc?

Cheers.

MPG is about on par with the EP3 in my experience. For the love of god don't get an EP3. So boring and so lame.

Matt's ATR does appear to be a beast. Sound proofing can always be put back in.

MPG in an ATR is NOT on par with an EP3. You can get 40mpg for an EP3 without really trying too hard, best I ever saw in my ATR was 32.

THe ATR is a cracking cruiserand offers better ride quality at motorway speed and the seats are more comfy/supportive.

ATR is better on track :)

CTR is easier to drive day to day

ATR is better bolted together - you can tell it was a much more expensive car when new.

CTR is probably more practicle as you can drop the back seats - fixed in the ATR.

You guys are very encouraging you know!!! Think I'll be able to make my mind up for sure once I've been in one - where are you Midlands peeps?

You know what, I did have the Clio 182 on my list, but then I thought I wouldn't fit in it?!?!

Also I think the prices of EP3 have been dropping rapidly over the last year and a half. I can't see the prices of ATR's dropping anymore :dunno: Unless we give them away :-?

No worries dude, 90k in a CTR and 27k in an ATR helped with my understanding
