And i've just bought some D2R replacement bulbs, however some randomer told us that D2S's were the correct bulb type...as i was aware though D2s is for projector lamps and D2r are for normal reflector type headlights, this true?

The service manual states D2S, but is incorrect. D2R's are the right ones.
