What don't you like?

I'll post up feedback on the developers support forum to see if there's anything they can do.

If your searching for 2 words your screwed. I cant seem to get it to show results with BOTH words in hte thread topic, instead it searches topics for the 1st word and the 2nd word individually. Previously you could use "AND" and that would work.
You can search for a word for example "live" and in the results it will bring up words like delivery. I know this is a pretty bad example but im sure you understand what i mean.

I find it really difficult to find the stuff i need. I have to try and remember a word that distincly refers to that particular topic. I was looking for the thread that had the HSV V10 race car engine specs, and dates of its racing debut. I tried loads of combinations and words, even though i knew the thread existed it never showed up in the results field.

Maybe and this is only a suggestion that the forum topics are changed... :dunno: If im looking for say info on some brakes, which section do i look in? ATR specific tuning? Problems and solutions tuning your car? or problem and solutions Brakes wheels & tyres? All three? I know you'd probably say ATR specific tuning, but realistically i could find my answer in any of those categories. It maybe me but i think changing the sections could help the search function do its job, its more difficult to search on here than any other forum ive used.

The site upgrades have worked well, its just taken some time to get used to it, however i feel the search function has took a slight step back. I could be using the function wrong but i hope the above is taken as constructive :agree:

With the old search, you'd type something in and it would appear on page 1. The new search will have you sifting through 8 pages of irrelevent stuff before you find it. :-(

also, try searching for 'typhoon'. The same topic appears 19 times on the first page instead of just once, so the search engine is posting up a hit for every post in the thread which contains that word. The old search engine would only show the thread once, which was more user friendly :thumbleft:

Using the "search topic titles only" will only return results where "typhoon" is in the title... most of the time the title isn't what you need to search - it's the posts.

As with Stu's example, I searched for "typhoon" and the first 3 results didn't even contain the word Posted Image they simply happen to be a post in a topic where another post has the required word.

Have to agree, it's a bit difficult to find stuff. Posted Image
