I had Invision (who make the forum) remote in and look at the forum, they said it's working perfectly fine and any issues are client side. They didn't however suggest any client fixes because 'there are too many scenarios'. I can kinda understand that response.

I've tested it with both my account and a normal member account on my personal pc (XP with Firefox and IE8), my personal netbook (Win XP and Firefox), work XP laptop (IE7), my new work laptop (Win 7 and IE8) and finally my iPhone 3GS with Safari.

I've never experienced the issue. :dunno:

I use my laptop at work and the forum loosk fine, i then log in at home with the same laptop and its all over the place?

The error Rab posted comes from the server, not the client browser... it may not be a "forum" issue, but is more probably an intermittent server issue with memory allocation.

As for things looking differently on the same machine between work and home - could well be content filtering with your ISP, or firewall blocking certain code that makes things then render like poo. Maybe. Possibly.

Well it is a co-located server with crap(fast)hosts ... so anything is possible. :(

Typical of any IT firm, unless you can provide solid evidence of the problem they won't admit fault.
