Hi all

I'd like to intruduce myself. I currently own a 2002 CTR but i'm looking to sell up and purchase a ATR. I've always liked the accord, but did'nt relly think when i bought the CTR,anyway should i be looking at the 2.2 or the 2.2i,is there a differnece between the 2??

Many Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil and welcome to the forum. All ATRs are 2.2 injection it's just that some people will advertise as 2.2i and some wont. There is a buyers guide on here so check that out.

Also should i stay away from the 100k+ examples when buying on,as there are lots of these about and i only have 3k to spend??

I'm not sure but probably and in the long run it can save a shed load of money. :agree:
Both on your possible purchase but also on your future running costs. :D

The mpg on the civic would be better. My mate gets 27-32mpg on average compared to my 22-26mpg. :agree:

I find the Civic dull to drive compared to the accord. There is little difference in performance, but 2 totally different driving experiences.
Breadvan for the lose.

You'd probably find that most would upgrade to an ATR, from A CTR. Just drive one and you'll see. :agree:

The tensioner is no worse than changing the timing belt.

And hows your MPG on the CTR then? Not that it really matters.

That's me that is :agree:

I loved the EP3, not so much the FN2, but I do prefer the ATR :agree:

Ref MPG, any Type R will be as thirsty as heavy as your right foot. I used to get 250 a tank from my EP3 with spirited driving, the ATR I get about 200. ATR is a 2.2 and a bit heavier, so will of course drink a little bit more than a 2.0 EP3. :agree:

Welcome mate - I'm not to far from you, I live opposite the Royal Hospital :agree:

TBH, if you get a looked afetr one, it should be pretty solid. The main common prob is the 5th Gear Synchro and thats about it. Auto-tensioner should be changed every 5 years or so so not really a prob but service item imo.

Just drive one and you'll see what all the fuss is about :agree:
