So... today was not the best day i have had, the ATR was crashed. i got into the car today and it didnt feel right, i travelled to Perth(about 30 miles from where i stay) and felt the car snapping back out of the corners and it seemed like there was something not right with the car. I thought to myself the car was driving odd. On the way back home the car turned into a corner and didnt really turn back. I thinkit is something to do with the steering rack i have very recently had another steering rack (used) fitted to the car as the previous one was leaking slightly. It just wasnt driving right today. Now i am 90% sure the car was driving differently, it could well of been driving error but i know this car and things to me didnt seem right. It was wet but i know the roads, i wasnt driving crazy andi know the cars capabilities. ANyway the car slid out and was banked up onto a verge.

I am seeing if anyone might be interested in this before i claim of the insurance, I have not had an acccident in the 11 years i have been driving and i am reluctant to make a clain on the car, as much as i love the ATR it might be better it goes to a breaker or someone that can fix it on the cheap and end up with a solid car rather than myself going through an insurance company and paying the excess blablabla. If there is no serious interest by monday i will make a claim... just seeing if anyone might be interested beforehand...

The damage is shown below in the pics.

From what i can see the damage is... front tyre shredded, i have another tire i can supply which is nearing the illegal limit.
Alloy has a chip/dent in it (see pic)
bumper is beyond repair!
driver side light is cracked
passanger wing has very slight damage/paint chipping
windscreen washer container is punctured
Obviously on top of this the steering rack or whatever it was that felt strange this mornig while driving it needs looked at.

I have spent a lot of money on the car since i have owned it(about a year) From the pics you can see the car is(or was) in good condition.
The car has some tasteful mods and it looks great.

Part service history
About 10months MOT (Sailed through the last one)
3 months TAX

HPI clear, welcome to check, i did the same when i bought it

Recent work in my ownership
(i have receipts for about £1500 of work in my ownership)
new battery
thermostat replaced
back hubs/discs replaced
new calliper on the rear
ANTI ROLL BAR
new stereo/uprated speaker system

Almost at the 120k mark... a 100 or so to go.

Mods
K&N air filter
Front grill revamped, the old style badge has been removed and replace with the red honda badge which really makes the ATR look nice
lowered on springs, sitting at a perfect height
alloys refured in gunmetal (showing signs of a little kerbing but nothing major)
tinted windows all round
CD/MP3 player/AUX
Apparently there is an excedy clutch fitted but i have no paperwork to back this up

Apart from what happened today the car is in good condition, interior is good, slight wear and tear on the steering wheel but overall very good inside. Exterior apart from the obious the bodywork is smooth and no dings, light scratching here and ther (what you would expext from a car of this age.

looking for £2300 ovno.

I am sure there is loads i have missed so any questions ask away. I will update as i remember all the info. Any questions fire away. MODS i hope i am not breaking the rules with this??? If so let me know.

the roof rack will most likely not be sold with the car, I would also condsider a slightly lower offer minus the K&N air filter. I still have the standard air filter so a deal could be made if you dont want the k&n air filter.

The car is located in scotland (PH15) 30 miles north of perth, viewing welcome.

If you are seriously interested you need to work fast, i am claiming on monday. The car has been looked after in my ownership and is (apart from what hapened today)... a good example of an ATR

i am a honda fan and have also owned a 96 itr, i am a mamber if itr-dc2 under the same username with a few hundred posts or so if you want to check for authenticity.

TBH bud, don't think it would cost too much to fix it yourself - that's what I'd do personally as opposed to going through the insurance :agree:

If I was you I would keep it as the damage does not look that bad,
as for replacing the parts, they can be had quite cheap compered to claiming on the insurance and having the increased amount to pay for a whilePosted Image

the main thing is you are o.k a car can be repaired or replaced you can not be Posted Image

Get it repaired.

Should be able to get hold of the parts you need without to much hassle.

Glad you're ok mate. :agree:

ok, looked into this and i am now certain i will sell this as is. On further inspection both headlights are needing replaced... not just the one. Also the cross member has taking a bit of a hit, probably wouldn't need replaced but probably should be. So NOW £2100 ONO

Would also possibly consider a P/X with money either way (preferably a honda!)

rocafella - i am not going down the route of splitting, sorry

urban - standard shocks, not sure what the springs are, they are longer springs with tensioners so the ride is firm and stiff.

ahh i see, have heard a few stories on here of high mileage shocks failing once lowering/stiffer springs fitted.

have you had a look at the shocks?? no leaks etc?? that could have contributed to the steering feeling off :dunno:

OMG I owned this car last year for 3 months. I purchased it and sold it on to someone who then sold it to someone up North and im assuming its you. Boy I miss this car. Im tempted to buy it back but not sure as I sold it for £2200 a year ago and I think you find a decent NHB for that straight nowadays. Will keep you posted. Glad to hear your well.

Keep it, fix it, and enjoy it once again :agree:

It's a nice looking car mate, be a shame to end up breaking it.
