It has full Honda dealership history up to 90k (last owners manual service stamp)
All work i have had done since ownership is at VtecDirect and i have invioces for all work done.
I've owned it since Feb, have covered about 6k and have had quite a few things done to make sure its as good as possible.
General Maintainance: (All work has been done by VtecDirect in Winsford)
Timing and balancer belts and tensioner replaced,
New main oil seal and exedy clutch,
Valve clearances checked and adjusted when i got it, and then done again about 2 weeks ago,
New front ARB drop links,
Sump re-sealed,
New Platinum plugs (about 3 weeks ago),
EGR plate cleaned out,
Throttle Body cleaned,
Brake and Clutch fluids both renewed,
Gearbox and Diff oil changed twice,
I have done about 4 engine oil and filter changes since i've owned it - with 5w/40 fully synth Rock Oil and Hamp/Honda filters.
Modifications:
Suspension - XYZ Coilovers with pillowball top mounts
Fitted in June, these have changed the car. More comfortable than the standard suspension, but through the corners - the car is just outstanding. They were fitted and professionally setup by Andy at VtecDirect. These cars handle like a hatch as standard, one of the best standard cars you can buy, and so with this kit on it - i cannot explain the further improvement how much fun the car is. What people dont realise is that although they are a little heavier - the Accords are about on par in terms of handling with the Integra, and thats saying something really...they are really good fun. So yea, the coilovers cost me about £800 after having them fitted and everything, and well worth it.
Brakes - Front: Bremtec Competition spec grooved Discs & Ferodo DS2500 pads, Rear: G3 Grooved Discs & Ferodo DS2500 pads. Has had new brake fluid.
The car stops on its nose...even from cold. The front callipers are twin pots as standard, and so the brakes are extremely sharp, getting better as they get warmer. The pads are worth about £200 all round, and i wanted the best...so the DS2500's are for this car. It's stable under braking (helped by the coilovers) and all sliders are well maintained and greased.
I havent touched the engine apart from the essential maintainance, i did a rolling road session in April (i have the graph) and it managed to achieve the 212bhp that it left the factory with.
Bad points:
When i got the car, there were a few little things that i thought needed sorting (brakes, timing gear and suspension), and i have replaced all of these with the best parts i could source, and made sure it was done properly. So there is very little wrong. The main downfall it has is small bodywork imperfections. The rear arch has been caught with something in the past, and has developed a little surface rust. I have been assured by a bodyshop that its a simple fix (got quoted £150 to sort) and hasnt progressed deep. Honestly, its not bad at all...and is a simple fix. Being black, the front end shows up a few stonechips...and the bumper as got little paint fractures - again, they have been there since before i got it...and i just havent sorted it yet as i wanted the mechanical things doing first.
However, the car still cleans up beautifully, and gleams after a clean (i have given it a full days detailing once a month - inside and out). I have also polished the headlights back as they were hazed when i got it and i wanted them crystal clear.
All in all - i've put alot into this car to make sure its right, and although i havent quite finished what i wanted to on it - its a rare and special car that always puts a smile on my face and is utterly rewarding to drive.
It's taxed until 31/1/2011 and Mot until May 2011.
