What is it about selling cars with no petrol? I had the same when i bought mine.

When i sold both the Lude & my old Accord they had a full tank, so the buyer felt like they were getting a better deal.

I put £20 in the car, two viewings and test drives later the fuel light came on. As for the buyer getting a deal, I think you'll find he got a bloody bargain. Why would you put £70 of fuel in a car if you were selling it :dunno:
My new toy : e36 m3 evo individual gt

Well with the Lude, the lad that bought it had 100 mile journey home, seemed wrong to me selling a car he couldn't drive home, but I guess we all take a different view on life...

A car is already sold with an MOT & tax disc on, so the seller is effectively paying future running costs already.
Seriously, how hard is it for the buyer to stop at a garage and put his own petrol in after buying it? Jesus.

It can often be the case that the buyer is from out of town and would have no idea where he nearest juice shop was :)

And didn't have sat nav with POI, or a pen and paper to draw a map, or the brain cells to ask..... :agree:

Hi Mike, glad your enjoying the car, obviously you made it to a petrol station before she ran out lol. Wait till you get some nice weather, give her a good clean and then you will be really impressed with her condition.

Mike :agree:

I cleaned her Sunday morning :evil4:

The mrs has taken it to work today :-(

If I had my way it would not be used for commuting!

Thanks for a hassle free sale (so far, touch wood).

Exhaust is excellent, best system I have had experience of on in any car, perhaps with the exception of my brother's spoon system he had on his previous car, a Honda Civic Jordan, but that exhaust was about £1000!

This vtec direct system is not too intrusive inside the cabin and sounds lovely on idle outside the car and great when in vtec

Much better than the solid fabs system I had on my lude. Not helped by the fact the baffles went on that within the 1st year and doing less than 5000 miles!

If I remember correctly Lloyd the fuel light wasn't on when you purchased the car & I believe that I had already given you a few hundred quid off the asking price even before you made the journey to view.
Why would you pay in excess of £50 - £70 in fuel to pass it onto any perspective buyer ????? You may as well just put the cash in his hand & watch him drive away with a smug yet confused look on his face !!!!!

Personally I would agree with statement Stux has already made.

As long as there is enough to get you to a petrol station it shouldn't matter. When I bought my 2nd 205 gti I got 2 miles and I ran out of petrol and had to walk to the petrol station, luckily it was only a mile away!

Thanks for the info. I've been considering exhaust options for the past few weeks.

Needs must Kniting, the old Accord's gearbox was on its last legs and there was no way i was parking a replacement on the street, so the Lude had to go to make room for a new car in the garage
