Hello i am Paulo i have 25 years old, from portugal and i have an accord type r 99. I need some help because I have the same problem as a club member, my vetc doesnt works and is limited at 6500rpm, i need some help please...

Hi ,

This is where the forum is going wrong , I have said it before but it fell on deaf ears a fair few times , there is a section that is paid for to help sort out issues with peoples cars . Pay and you get to see it . Stop worry about text message and spelling and grammer and worry about what is truely going to stick this board in the shitter and thats people not paying for the problems section

o for goodness sake... im board of this already.... It might be the VTEC solenoid. When my mates civic did this it turned out to be this.

Check oil is ok too at correct level. (even though it makes sod all difference to if vtec works or not. Had it below min once by mistake and it worked fine. Not good for the engine tho.... dont do... slap on dans hand...)

When the engine is at a certain temp it works then too. Also umm... yer its your solenoid.... if its anything else tell us.. im interested.

For skywalker already paid via paypal friend, but did not notice as I am registered on time friend ... I have no problems in paying, although Portugal and spelling mistakes are to be Portuguese ... just want to solve the problem of my honda tenmho provlemas and not to pay ...

Is the engine at operating temperature when you hit the 6500 limiter?

(you'd be surprised how many people think that it's perfectly acceptable to rev the tits off the engine after 30 secs of running and expect instant vtec from cold....)

Also, don't attempt high revs out of gear (neutral). It won't work. Apologies if i'm stating the obvious, but we've had numerous members in the past complaining about 'vtec no worky from coldy' :agree:

Oil temp, level, solenoid. It could be a number of things. But firstly is the car up to full temperature before you try to vtec it? :dunno:
