Hi guys, thought I'd let you have first dibs on my silver ATR before it goes on ebay next week..
I bought this car about six months ago to see me through, I really wanted a red one but bought this until i found the right one for me. Now I have my red one I have no use for her and sadly my wife wants the money I've pinched out of the holiday funds back!! Shes been parked up a while and failed the MOT the other week on her brakes. Shes going to need discs, pads and some lines and one tyre has an egg on the inner side somewhere, so she needs a little love.. I'd love to keep her and now I've got my red one I'm starting to prefer silver />/> but it will mean a divorce and in all honesty with our new little girl to contend with I'd never get round to it.
Mileage is approx 125k but will get exact mileage and better pictures uploaded soon. The car is parked on my brothers drive and I'm round that way tomorrow.
It's a silver pre, registered V 1999, standard apart from privacy glass to rear half and induction kit. (Its not a typhoon before anyone asks, just a replica ebay jobby) Standard filter box etc comes with car. Good service history with the her, mostly Honda with big receipt from honda for new clutch about 30k ago.
Engine is absolutely fine, doesn't overheat, starts good, idles good, Vtec engages perfectly and pulls like a train, no lights on dash, no funny noises,no problems at all. I've kept an eye on the oil and she doesn't use much at all really. When I first got the car the radiator had a small leak where the metal connected to the plastic at the top, so I fitted a used radiator in good condition so she doesn't lose any water now. Gearbox is also all good and slots straight in to every gear, everything electrical works and the aircon gets nice and cold.
Cosmetically she is best described as fair or average. Some of the examples on here put her to shame, but shes not the worst and generally okay for the age I guess. The alloys are ready for a refurb but no big gouges or chunks missing, there is a little lacquer peel to the bonnet and the odd scratch here and there, the seats have a bit of wear to the drivers bolster etc and a little nick in the passengers that has been sewn up. Again I will add more detailed photos over next day or two when shes polished up. Stereo has been removed and fitted in my new car and there is a little rattle from the back end, not mentioned on MOT, possibly drop links? Its not bad but just being as honest and accurate as I can be. There is nothing more annoying to me than travelling to see a car that isn't what it says on the tin, so I wouldn't fetch anyone to see one I was selling only to get nasty surprises.
I guess all in all a nice little project for someone, I think way too good to split although I have considered it. I guess if I can't find the time to fix the brakes I'm not gonna find time to dismantle the entire car, plus she's too good to break. In the short time I've owned this car I've become quite attached to her and couldn't bring myself to do it anyway, I almost want to say I hope she goes to a good home!
I paid quite a bit more than I'm asking back for the car, and considering the price of parts on ebay etc needed for the MOT and also the value of the car if sold in pieces, I think the asking price of £999 is something like it needs to be so it can be a good investment for someone, should they repair or dismantle. Any less than that price and financially I would be daft not to spend a few hundred quid on her and sell with a new MOT.
The car can be viewed in Sheffield, I've not really considered test drives as they could be a bit scary so I need to think about that one. I'm certainly not letting any clown without correct insurance start bouncing off the limiter. The brakes do work and if you stand on them hard you still stop fairly quickly but are quite soft and not what they should be, so the buyer needs to make a decision about how they get her anywhere, I just allowed extra stopping time when i drove her last but I wouldn't of liked anything pulling out on me.
I'm more than happy to answer any questions on here or feel free to give me a call. James 07946096382
