hows it going im new too the site just bought myself a 99 atr in pirate black was wondering what makes of service parts should i get? (engine oil gearbox oil sparkplugs etc etc) also was thinking on gettin a new clutch kit should i go oem or exedy raceing clutch? also any1 know were i can get the original type r mats cheap?

As to your questions, there's a sticky about service parts but you may need to be a paid member to see it. Also OEM clutch is fine for most jobs. :agree:

Hi,

I am pretty new around here too, but welcome.

Regarding your question on service stuff, I think it really depends on how much you love your ATR and how much you can spend. If your going to be changing your oil every couple of months then oil at £40 quid for 4 litres isn't good for the wallet. Most guys I talk to have their own opinions on oils but from what I hear Castrol edge is the oil that is recommend by Honda. Then comes the viscosity some guys like 5w30 some say 10w40 again everyone has their own opinions, but to behonest I just go with what Honda recommend (gives me an excuse for wife if it breaks down).As for the gearbox oil, I believe getting the wrong one can make it unhappy and noisy, I'm due a change and have played it safe and gone for the MTF 3 from Honda.

a lot of guys on here get oil from Opie oils I am sure the more experienced guys will point you In the correct direction or do a search to see some of the other forums.

Unfortunately I have no experience with both clutch types, but if your driving it a lot i.e. commuting to work etc and not driving it hard I would stick to OEM.

Halfrauds do car specific mats for about £40 quid with no type r badge on it, but have seen actual ATR ones on eBay for about £55.

Not sure any of that will help.
