Hi guys,

Been a couple of weeks into ownership of my 91 ATR and absolutely loving it!

I've had an accord since 99 and still have a cb3 coupe which my wife drives.

Just reading up stuff and helpful information in order to get mine to A1 spec as after giving it an oil and sparks change it was apparent that the previous owner did things on the cheap.

Let's hope I can contribute to the forum just as much.

Hello back to you all! :-)

Out of curiosity, are the h22's supposed to be a bit noisy? Just that my old accord sounds really smooth compared to the type r..there's no knocking our rattling, just a lot of ticking away like injector noise and you can hear it quiet a bit from inside the car too.

Also the clutch, slight grinding noise when not pressed in, sounds a bit like a twin plate does except I know it's not.

Apart from the noises she does drive sweet. I am allowed to call it "she"aren't I? Or is that frowned upon? :-)

Any Swindon boys about as seeing the few round the area is what made me jealous and really want to buy one..

The engines are quite noisy normally so I wouldn't be that worried about it. :agree:

And all cars are 'shes'. :D

They are more "tappetty" than others, so it's always a good idea to get the valve clearances checked properly and adjusted if needed. Just hope that it's not a bottom end rattle...

It's definitely not a bottom end rattle, sounds a bit like tappets but I got told that injectors can be noisy also.

Maybe I'll check the gaps on the valves.

Are the thrust bearings on them normally a bit noisy? As I know they are standard exedy correct me if I'm wrong.
