Hey Folks,

New to the land of the ATR after spending the last 4 years in H22 ludes the last 18 months of which with a PAW rebuild h22 running 228bhp & 174lb/ft. Made the change about a month after someone rearended my lude :-(/>

This was the lude before it happened

Anyways, I bought the ATR from Dino who I think got it from Rhys who's a member here too...

So here she is

It's got some breathing mods and has been dyno'd at 238bhp & 164lb/ft. Also had a PAW engine rebuild and a vtec direct gearbox rebuild with Mfactory final drive ratio. All done by previous owners with receipts so a happy boy.

So short term, nothing major planned. VAFC to drop the vtec as it drops out between 2nd & 3rd, some new wheels & boots and getting the rust sorted.

They're still a little murkey so wil have to do it again with a more coarse first grit but not a bad first effort.

What wheel were on it? Look like teg wheels?

They were long overdue. It was always on my 'to do' list.

Anything you need to know about the history just ask :agree:

Yep teg 98 spec wheels in the pic. It also wore EP3 and slipstreams in my ownership

I've got a set of ep3's to go on when I get new tyres :)

One question actually, gearbox. What's the setup in there? Dino said there was an m factory final drive but I couldn't find receipts in the folder. Also what diff is in there?

It will look good on those :agree:

When I had the car it was standard ATR gearbox casing, 4.64 mfactory final drive, ATR LSD, then the rest was Prelude M2B4 internals. Not sure if Dino played around with this or not ?

Cool, I was hoping that was the setup. It drops out of vtec 2nd to 3rd so sounds like the final drive is still there. Don't like the m2b4 diff, had one on the lude an didn't feel like it really did much. Is the ATR diff helical?

Are you sure it drops out of vtec ? I think you need to drive it harder :evil4:

ATR diff is Torsen (helical) from memory. I was never a fan, I've driven something with a KAAZ since and the difference is incredible !

What was once my favourite ATR :)

I was going to say that i thought the FD mod was meant to help with the dropping out of vtec

 Yeah I'm sure. If you buzz the limiter (7800) before changing it still drops out. Did you have a different ECU in it at any point?

The FD makes the gear closer together so there's less lap to my understanding.

Always ran the standard ECU buddy.

I just realised what the problem is !
I'm guessing I never had any drop off with vtec because I always used 16inch wheels. It made a significant impact on the gearing.

Where are you from ? If you ever see a red S2000 either flashing or waving at you - that's me

That would do it! Think I might go down that route and just lift the suspension a tad rather than tuning etc as it'll be way cheaper. Or maybe just a VAFC and drop the vtec cross over. Argh! decisions, decisions, decisions!

What size tyres were you using? 215/45/16's?

Yep using 215/45/16's. I did try 205's at one point but the belly was constantly on the floor !
It always went really well and the only thing missing at one stage was a remap/standalone ecu.

I will always miss driving that car
