It's Pete's bag baby, don't mess with perfection or he will strike down on thee with vengeance and furious anger - then you will know his name is Toyracer

I did a 520 mile round trip to Cheshire to pick up an engine block at the weekend, which went in the boot (and is still there) along with all the gear needed for the rest of the family (Wife and 3 kids) to have an overnight stay in a hotel. The ATR still managed to get 40.32mpg ( I was being sensible though due to the distance) and yet still managed to pick up a patio set of 6 chairs, table and parasol which was tied to the roof on the way home.

The ATR is my daily, ok I could get a diesel, and be more sensible but as others have said it's too boring for me, my ATR is my only toy, it is my hobby and so is kept for that reason. It was originally purchased as the family car as the wife only had a civic meaning not everyone could fit in. I've since got her a CRV meaning mine is even more of a toy, but it will still do the longer journeys as it's better on fuel and more confortable.

Why be sensible and drive a diesel? I mean it literally makes no sense to me as a petrolhead, why any one that has the remotest interest in cars would do it. Buying a diesel saloon car to miserably plod about in blithering on about empeegeez and torkz is something boring, non-petrolheaded people do.

Someone will pipe up with "Yea but I got a Caterham for the odd Sunday drive". Sorry, but it still seems like a shit deal. :evil4:
