Hi

After much deliberation - and a little pressure from my other half - I've decided to see if anyone is interested in my Accord Type R?

I've no idea if it will end up as someone's daily driver, a project or spares (as many do) but it appears to be a very early pre-facelift model.

I hadn't been looking for a Type R but it was traded in at the dealership I worked for just under 2 years ago (27/02/2013) and having never owned or driven a Honda VTEC before, I was pleasantly surprised with it's performance and snapped it up as a cheap, fun weekend car.

It was used occasionally until May 2013 when MOT expired and due to SRS light being on was taken off the road until September 2013 when I finally got around to fixing and getting new MOT done.
Didn’t use it over follow winter, and had a trusted local mechanic give the car a thorough going over in Jan 2014 at which point I had timing belt and water pump done.

Details:
S701 NLX - Car just back on this original registration number
Registered 26/11/1998 with 7 previous keepers
131,800 miles - unlikely to increase much as not my daily driver
Part Service Record - Service book stamped up to 02/07/2004 @ 85900miles (10 stamps). Previous keeper maintained car themselves but kept no records and I had car serviced Jan 2014, but have had regular oil changes since purchased.
MOT - 12/10/2015 (two advisories - 10mm chip in screen previously repaired & o/s/f tyre close to limit)
2 Keys - 1 remote

Various parts have been replaced whilst in my ownership as required including -

New CAT & both O2 Sensors

Airbag Squib in steering wheel – (SRS light on)

K&N Panel filter (in last 12 months)

New Front Discs and Pads at 123k (have spare front disc set which I'll include)

Full Service inc. plugs, n/s/f wheel bearing and timing belt/water pump 124k

Last MOT Oct 2014 – Had brake hose/pipe replaced and n/s/f wheel gaitor.

Then in Nov/Dec 2014 had seized rear calliper replaced with new item. Then o/s/f calliper rebuilt with piston kit. Also had new rear set of pads fitted, totalling about £650 with labour.

Now I’m under no illusions that this car is far from perfect, but at the same time it is nearly 17 years old. Bit scruffy, usual age related marks but cleans up ok as the pictures show and I’ve listed the bad bits below.

Chip in screen (previously mentioned) – had repaired by Auto Windscreens 04/2014. No issue since and hasn’t gotten any bigger.
Needs two front tyres – getting low (rear Avon ZV5’s cracking a little on edges, but not advisory and plenty of tread.
Bonnet has stone chips, small creases/pin dents but not obvious unless looking
N/S/F bumper cracked and scuffed thanks to my other half and a low kerb! Some crazing in places could do with repair/respray.
Front fogs/covers missing – never been there since purchased.
Wheels have kerbing and lacquer peeling.
Rear electric aerial motor not working (had replaced with used motor once but gone again – radio reception fine)
N/S/R wing damaged – see pics
Interior is very clean for age, just little wear to drivers seat bolster and has small burn mark.
A bulb has also gone in the dash so milometer not visible at night – rest of dash/speedo etc all ok.
Aircon never worked - bought replacement condenser of this forum but never fitted it - will be included in sale.

Never had bodywork repaired as aesthetics didn’t bother me, more interested way it drives.

Hope I haven’t missed anything and no idea if I've priced it right but looking for around £1300ono
