Hello! Long time, no posting here, but I was reading all the useful info from the technical section during this time.

Well, after a lot of work, I can say that "stage 1" is almost ready. And when I say stage one I mean bringing the car in a mint OEM condition. All this work was a bit costly, around 7k EUR till now, but I am glad that the car is running sweet and it is looking gorgeous. I'm in love with it. Also, during the process, I've made a full stripping and cleaning of the chassis, together with some coats of Terosen and wax to protect it. I was a bit surprise that the car was almost rust free, the only affected part was the front-right under-wing, but it was easy to repair using sticking, not welding in order to protect it from further rust. Also, during this process I was informed that the car was accident free (I mean no serious one, the chassis is looking good, no bends, welding etc), also a good news.

This is a recent photo of it, when I'll have time I'll post the list of the repair work done, must be translated, right now is in Romanian and it is quite extensive. :)/>)

Cheers!

Yes, I used his as an example. :p

I will get back to OEM wheels as soon as I have them resprayed. I am sold to the 100% OEM look, this car was one of my favorites when I was a child (I am 30 now) and the first thing I thought when I bought it was to get it back to that lovely stock OEM look. I have the original stereo bought waiting to be installed, so no compromise here. LOL.

I'll keep the front lip though, I like it better with it.

Glad to hear, Mine had the whole aftermarket wheels and coilovers, but I have now returned to OEM wheels and suspension which I never should have changed as I love the OEM wheels too plus it handles brilliantly on OEM suspension. Mine is near OEM now, and I aim to keep mine as OEM as possible :)/>

ATR was my favourite too for a very long time.

Gotta love those cars!

I have a friend who owned and driven a lot of crazy cars like the new M4, G Class, S Class Coupe AMG, Porsche 911 etc. I let him drove the ATR one night and he was amazed. Of course his cars were out of the ATR league if you are interested in speed and acceleration, but he sworn that regarding personality, those cars weren't much better than my CH1.

He was amazed by how the car looks, feels, the original equipment found in it (seats, steering wheel, LSD etc.), but most important by how you feel driving it - such a rare, unique combination of personality and joy.

Those are the moments when I feel happy about spending cash on an old legend. :)

I was thinking about buying a short shifter for my ATR. From what I've seen, the PSPEC one is not available anymore. What about the JTC one?

https://www.jtccusto...kit?taxon_id=33

This is the Ultimate kit, comes with all the needed gear. Quality wise, is it as good as PSPEC one? Or is it better to wait in order to find a second hand PSPEC shifter?

Also, because the OEM shifting of the ATR is a bit loose, not so precise, I believe a short shifter makes a good difference. Am I right or is it better to leave it as it is?

Thanks!
