New to accord! Third type r from North Wales :)

Hey guys! Thought I'd sign on here like I have done every other forum I've had a type R in! Few days ago I picked my accord type R in pirate black! Forum car from squirrelofwoe? Having owned a EP3 and DC5 I was eager to try out the biggest type r of them all! And I must say I'm impressed with it!

Think it has all the factory options! Including the centre arm rest, pre facelift and loving it! I will probably start a build thread for the various things il do to make it where I want it to be!

Few problems to sort out first! It needs a new O2 sensor as I've just had an engine light with it complaining of high voltage to sensor 1 bank 1! And this has occasionally restricted the revs and starved it of power! I'm hoping the replacement sensor will fix this! Needs a new steering pump as its whining! So they're the first on the list! Everything else will just be how I want it :) picture to follow after I've given her a good detail!

Good example you bought, there was pictures on here :) have a chat with 'bails' on here regards to the steering pump, he may have a good used one

Welcome mate, yes looked a tidy car that one! As Shuthan said I have plenty of ATR spares available if you need anything, have a good power steering pump here if you need it mate just drop me a pm :agree:

Thanks for the welcome guys! Bails il message you now! Has anyone else had a problem where there is loss of power? I had an O2 sensor go on the civic but it didn't act like this, every now and again the revs will refuse to go any higher than 2 - 3k and only happens occasionally at random! I was thinking if the O2 sensor was faulty then maybe the ECU was freaking out and restricting the car now and again? Anyone else had this expirience?
As I say only reason I put it to the O2 is because the engine light complained of high voltage from sensor 1 bank 1 and I k ke they're notorious for going! Also I found an NGK sensor on eBay but I'm assuming the original Honda item will be the way to go!

Hello and welcome. :wave:

The issues you are having on the car should be posted in the problem and solutions section of the forum unfortunately.
This is a paid for part of the forum but worth it for what it can save you in the long run. ;)

But for now just change the Primary O2, (maybe with the secondary as they have been known to cause issues when not changing just the one) but do not use one from eBay! :shock:

Try one of the traders on here as they can do it cheaper than Honda themselves. :agree:

Thanks for the info guys and the welcome! Yes I've been advised to go through VTEC Direct for replacement sensors, might try and give it a clean first just to try my luck! Haha

You can not clean the O2 sensors. It will ruin them! ;)

Oooo okay! Haha oddly the last two days engine light went out and no loss of power almost like it never happened. Bizzar! Think il get them ordered anyways to be on the safe side!
