Up for sale is my cherished Type R Honda Accord Type R 2.2 VTEC Engine code H22A7 212bhp.
The balancer shaft belt snapped when I was doing 70mph on the motorway. I stopped straightaway and got it taken home on a flatbed. The engine runs (but would not recommend it as the oil pump will not run without the belt). The bottom end is very noisy. The car ran and performed great up until moment the belt snapped.
It seems a crying shame to break this car if someone had the skills to fix the engine but I realise it’s not worth any more than the sum of its parts if someone wanted to give it a go but later decided to break it themselves or use a donor car.
Therefore, I’ll put it up for sale (OFFERS) for a few weeks to see if anybody is interested in it. If it doesn’t sell then I’ll break it and sell whatever parts I can separately.
Cylinder head very good, excellent compression. gear box & clutch good, new K&N air filter, full Recaro interior in good condition, white speedo clocks, Momo steering wheel & airbag. Xenon headlights (new bulbs), usual Type-R trim.
I’ve had this car since it was 6 months old - full service history. 117K miles. Bodywork (Nighthawk Black) good for age but could do with a cut & polish. Wheels and tyres also fine, although the wheels could do with a refurb.
