Hello there ladies, i am new to accordr but not to Hondas. I have previously owned around 6 hondas, 4 of them being vtec screamers. I do have little knowledge about vtec's overall but its mostly regarding the B series engines. I have not purchased a CH1 yet but i am very very tempted.

Any advice on the 5th gear synchro issue as its the only thing that i am hesitant about buying one. How common is it and do the facelift suffer from the same problems?

Ladies? not many, if any here so you should say 'gents' lol

Its very common, but many would be fixed by now being 15 years old and older, facelifts after 2002 haven't got the issue as far as I remember.

Thanks for the quick reply. Anything else to look out for when buying the R? Ive read about issues regarding calipre seizing but that is common even with the civics i had owned.

Yes theres plenty of info here and online, plus a buyers guide. Main thing is the bulkhead rot and to find a looked after example.

I have a family owned ATR pre facelift that I may sell soon if you`re interested, it`s all original, has a few little marks but is genuine :p
