Hey there,

my Name is Martin from Germany ( excuse my bad english).

Today we decided to bought an LHD Accord Type R,first registered in 1999 in Germany.
In fact i am not the owner.
The ATR will be the daylie-driver of my girlfriend.
But as i will keep an eye on all the technical details i decided to register here.

The car has done 92000 miles.
Interior is in a very good condition.
It has many many small marks on the exterior but nothing you can't fix.
The ATR is also lowered 25mm with springs only, but's that why front shocks are done.
There is a Problem with the pulley but i already know that might be quite common with the H22A7 engine.
The pulleys seems to move when the car is running. We will see how to solve that.

As the ATR is very rare here in germany.
350 Where sold.
Only 109 where still registered a year ago.

Thats why i will need help with used parts i guess.
For example shocks and exhaust system.

As i own an WRX STi from 2002 and a Subaru Forester i am used to buy parts from the UK.

I am exited to here from you guys.

Greetings from Germany

Martin

Oh thanks i already know where to find OEM or regular spare parts.
That's also possible here in Germany.

I also might buy K&W Variant 1 coilovers.

But i already saw that you sell aftermarked used parts here that are rare to find over here or even impossible to get :-/
Strut bars, exhaust systems and so on.

Welcome :agree:

Could you tell us more about how many german ATR left?
Is there any official site where to see the number of cars stil registered?

The "urban legend" says that only 130 ATR were sold in France, but impossible to know how many french ATR are still on the road.

Good luck with your girlfriend car and don't hesitate to post pictures of it ! What is it color?

You can write a mail to KBA (Kraftfahrtbundesamt)
They can tell how many where registered at all and how many where now.

i found out with the help of the german accord forum that
350 have been imported to germany
round about 330 where registered (so 20 went else where NL,B,F for example)
and 109 where on the road in Januar 2016

I think its a good idea to pay to subscribe as that gives you access to the problem and solution section of the forum, among others. ;)

Wilkommen! I'm often I Germany since my wife has family in Köln and Freden. I've only ever seen 1 ATR but it was in a bad condition. Is the TÜV control hard there? Any major plans for your GFs ATR?

Actually Köln is not far away and i drive in that direction envy morning (to work).

I have never seen a German Accord Type R so far. Even only a few EP3 Civic's.
I know there are out there but you won't see them in dale traffic.

TÜV is not that hard. You just have to know the ''rules'' then almost ervything is possible.
Some things they are very strict over here like loud exhaust , or decat.
You need to know ways to make it work legal but even when it is registered in your paperwork.
To loud is to loud and you have to remove the exhaust again.

But there are countries in Europe that are worse. Switzerland for example. If they get you it will be much worse than removing your non stock exhaust .

So what will we do with the ATR :

First of all, i have to make the normal stuff like Oil Change all other fluids and air filters fuel Filter and so on. Maybe even new spark plugs.

Then the pulleys does wobble a little bit.
I do think i will change that for a new light weight one like vms racing,
The vale cover needs new paint.
I might buy the coilovers.

After that its time for the details.
Someone took of the pre facelift exhaust , now there is the ugly one on.
Looks bad with that pre facelift bumpers.
Need to find an aftermarked one that is not to loud to get it registered here.

The paint job is also in bad condition but before i take care of that i might seal the car from underneath first.
Just to make sure it will be rustless for a few more years.

Ah and teure is one import thing,
as my girlfriend is only 163cm i guess we need to find a way to mount here seat a little bit higher.
As i am 187cm it should not be to high.

We will see
