Any of you good people here know a good insurer that will insure a 19 year old Girl for her first car only having passed her test last week?

She has bought an 64 Plate Audi A1 S line 1.6 Diesel and has to get it Insured tonight or tomorrow morning as we go to collect the car tomorrow,
without a Black box it's around 2200,
With it lowest I have seen with the CO-OP is 1330 but prefer not to have the box.
Thanks in advance.

Thats quite the first car! I'd be happy with one of those now...😂

My insurer is cheap as chips but not sure about first time drivers...check them out, no harm in seeing. Its with 1st Central Insurance.

Don't discount the box. Financially, it's like trading the first year's self control for 4 years worth of no claims bonus.
I guess it depends on the terms set by the insurer. They're not generally over-restrictive for a first-time driver.
She should also get some money off if she's got another driver named on the policy who has decent history (eg. a parent).

Another alternative might be for her to find an insurer who gives NCB even if just a named driver on another policy. Direct Line used to offer this, although I don't know if it's still an option.

DO NOT GO FOR THE BOX - These are so untrustworthy, look into cases where people are running with 100% score then all of a sudden drop to a poor percentage.

Young, beginner drivers are always hit the hardest this and the elderly. Newer cars are going to pull a largely weighted premium due to price of parts and the lack of similar parts etc.

There are a number of discounts built in with NCD and length of time the vehicle has been owned - the list is almost endless.

Advice for Young drivers:

Don't buy a new or almost new vehicle.
If you have a Spouse then add them on (understand this is likely not the case on younger folk) If you have a parent that you can add on as an additional driver then do quotes with and without ( The owner and registered keeper should be the main driver of the vehicle do not put the parent on as the main driver then the actual owner this is classed as fronting and is illegal).
With this higher mileage tends to offer discount due to experience being built on a regular basis. (some but not all will offer a discount)
Use as much of a voluntary excess as possible or feasible also understand with newer vehicle the likelihood of the vehicle being written off in an accident is usually quite high.
Avoid add-ons such as legal and superior courtesy cars. Legal costs in connection with a claim are usually pulled in under the cause of the claim.

Finally options for young drivers in obtaining quotes:

Mustard.co.uk - This is where we would advise young drivers to go for insurance they offer some of the best rates.

don't worry too much about the name of the insurer - yes these are likely to offer the best service in the event of an possible changes or accidents however as long as they are regulated by the FCA (which they will be required to by law) you are usually okay.

I hope this helps -

Edit - This will still be a premium of over £1000

I'm so glad I'm not a young driver these days.

In my first year of driving I had a pretty heavily modded x14xe Corsa B insured for 1400 with 0NCB - no way that's viable now.

Agree with the above advice though - get something small and old for the first year or so - some great bargains out there. Found my Mrs a Fiat Panda in Nov for 320 for her to daily and take the Accord off the road. Great little car and perfect for local jaunts. Cost about 300 to insure and as her NCB was on the ATR we had to put 0 NCB on the policy (although it asked us how many years we had on other policies). That's with Hastings through Moneysupermarket.

That Audi is going to cost money to insure as it's high value and she's high risk. Bad choice in that respect if i'm honest.

Thanks for the replies.
The Car has been bought and is now insured with the co-op 1330,
Most Insurers would only accept her with having a box fitted or it would be over 2000.
