Hi guys. I guess it's time to intro myself here.
About a month and a half ago I managed to get my hand on this silver beauty. I was drooling for a Type-R for a long time now, this being my 4th Honda('92 Civic Sedan, '93 Civic Hatchback, '93 Del Sol).
The car is in decent condition, no rust, no rattles and the only thing smoking is me. Already has ACT lightweight flywheel and until today she received new oils/filters all around, Falken Azenis FK510(also waiting on winter set as we speak) 215/45r17 on stock ATR rims.
Still waiting for an order from h-tune with new VTEC solenoid gaskets and some other bits(OEM Water Pump, belt, coolant, etc.) and free time to change the thermostat and coolant as it's been 4-5 years since last change.
Short term plan is to get it in perfect running condition and enjoy. Future plans include short ram intake, better suspension(I might stick to stock height or max 3 cm drop as road here are nasty) and possibly some lightweight wheels and finding someone to reupholster the front seats as close to stock as possible. Depending on budget a n/a tune will be considered - I am aware power gains are not massive but I would like to keep the engine bay as close to stock as possible.
See you around guys!

Hello and welcome.

Long ram is better for power than the short ram, no need to change the water pump unless its leaking and when the Falkens are worn out, change them for some better tyres as they are OK but not the best. Plus you want something with a stiffer side wall as the ATR likes them. ;)
Lapping!

Thanks!

I keeps reading since posting and have decided on a long ram The water pump and a few other bits were bought for future use(prices here are ridiculous for OEM parts). These Falkens seem OK for now, reinforced sidewalls, and they say they are sportier than the Ziex 914 which I run on my Micra K11. If the Falkens will suck I will make sure they are worn prematurely.

This is a bit of a longer way down the line but, what do you guys think about the Bilstein B12 kit? Right now it goes for about 600 GBP and lowers the car 30-35mm. I get that handling will be better but any idea about low speed comfort/stiffness with regards to the Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs?

Other options would be Tein coilovers(about 100 GBP over the Bilsteins), BC Racing(about 200-250 GBP more expensive) - Ideally, I would like to keep it stock height or as close to that as possible.

I loved the B12 kit, totally transforms the car into a beast!

Here's a pic of my old car with them on.

That looks exactly what I would go for. I guess you are running 215/45r17, right?

Thanks for the pics!

Yeah you're right about the tyre size 👍

Now I'm just waiting on the same kit coming out for my Swift 😁

You could try swaping the whole from a Swift Sport... unless you already have a Sport :D. On my K11 I went with KYB Excel-G struts and Vogtland 30 mm lowering springs and I am uber happy

Oh, ordered some Monster Sport goodness already! 🤣

I've also fitted Laile/Beatrush shifter bracket and cage bushes (shifting gear feels amazing now, very direct and solid), a HKS Super Power induction kit, and had the exhaust straight piped from the primary resonator. Sounds great now! Got lots of plans but I have other priorities to take care of first.
