Hi, I'm Steve. I joined here in 2016 when I was looking to buy an ATR but I never ended up finding one and went and bought an EP3 instead as there were more about so you could be more choosey.

Last year I saw an '99 ATR for sale which was past its best and had been parked up for 2 years. It was only about 10 miles from me so I went to have a look and even though it looked in a sad state I couldn't say no to it for £700 with quite a few spares (hubs, dampers, etc.) so I got it trailered back home.

Since then I've done the cambelt and waterpump as I didn't know the history. The rocker cover gasket was leaking so I did that at the same time. Took it for MOT and it failed on front top suspension arms both sides, a brake pipe and a couple of bits of welding needed doing on the sills which all weren't much bother except the tester also found a hole in the front subframe on the offside. Not a massive problem but it took ages to get the subframe out with everything being seized but I got there in the end and I'm glad I saved it from the scrappers.

I was so impressed with it when I first drove it after getting all the work done, I couldn't believe how well it handled for saying it was 20 years old and never having drove a car with a mechanical LSD I thought it was great how you could put power down coming out of the corners compared to my EP3.

Next for it is getting a fast road setup done for it although I'm having trouble finding the right rear camber arms but I've already found a thread on here helping me out so hello and see you around.
