Hello all first post so be gentle!

Picked up my ATR a few weeks ago now been looking into things and decided to join here in hope of having a few answers!

I bought my accord of a honda maniac and after 2 EP3's i'm becoming a honda nutter myself but thats neither here nor there.

The ATR is in pretty good nick but there are a few odd things about it chief being the lack of a tailgate carpet as in on the back of the door is this just on mine having a part missing or some form of crap weight saving exercise?

No doubt I will have more things to ask but will do as I actually take the thing on the road properly :)

Welcome!
The tailgate (bootlid) and bonnet have been unlined in both of the ATRs we've owned.

They also don't have any sound deadening under the carpets. ;)

Oh and hello and welcome.

Thanks for the welcome's folks,

Another random question for you, do you get people coming up to you about your ATR's? after EP3 ownership i'm used to people staring at me like im a lump of s**te..

This has to be the car i've had the most positive comments on ever! working in the trade i've rocked around in some pretty decent stuff but this thing attracts more attention than any of those hands down!

As for weight saving I just thought someone had taken it off and forgot to put it back for some reason didn't think a boot carpet weighed all that much, turning circle dosent bother me try a brand new RS4 performance on 20" alloys thats like an oil rig with a decent amount of fear thrown in because of the tiny tyres.

I was always getting asked about the car. ..mostly from sort of middle aged blokes who owned one in the past. Had an 80 year old couple asking about it one day, thought that was a bit amusing 🤣

When mine was a road car the majority of people that came over to ask me about it were saying "is that a Type S or something", followed by "they never did a Type-R Accord!?". Quite amusing.

I always remember the first time I saw one myself, back in about 2006 a black one came around a roundabout on Great Western Way in Swindon and I just saw the back end, twin exhaust and that spoiler. I bought one within 4 weeks.

The first time I saw one was on top gear in i think 1998 a white one being nailed around an air field the wing did it for me and the sound.

Only until during my EP3 ownership and got introduced to ben griffiths at Vtec direct (who I bought mine from) did i actually physically see one in the flesh, prior to that it was 9 years ago and sticking out of a hedge absolutely f**cked on the way home from work once.

Loving the rarity of these

When I first bought mine I took it to a local Jap performance specialist to get some welding done and some other obvious bits such as front wishbones. It was there a week.

When I picked it up they guy said to me that every single day one of his customers who came in to drop off/pick up their car was asking about the ATR.. either what is it, is it real or they had not seen one for years.

Yesterday I blew the most riced up CRX/del sol you have ever seen into the weeds on full vtec.

I love my ATR... :love4:
