and anyone who has not been active in visiting the site in a reasonable time scale say 2 months (except pagey and woody) as the internet is widely available, plus people move on to other cars and associated forums so why not wipe them off unless they pm the mods to advise them of thier circumstances ie forces ect :dunno:

but for some people it can't be helped,if you look at my member no. 9
i've been on here from very early but for a long time i was unable to get onto site for various reasons,hence my post count aint as high as others,. :dunno:

Non-posting users may be reading and getting info from the search, it becomes a bit of a minefield to delete people that have only 1 or 2 posts :(

I agree- but what about fok who register to gain so-much information, and havent posted since? The profile tells you when they were last on. I know it would be a long and arduos job, but we have so little percentage of the total number actually posting.....

Checking when they last visited the site would be a more reasonable way for deleting non-posting users, I would think no visits in 6 months and no posts reasonable deletion criteria :)

Well I may have a little spare time, I know before I went away last time I deleted a lot of Zero Posters and definite Bots, think I managed to whittle it down a good few hundred ;)

I've changed the group structure to try and eradicate these bot posters.

- New members automatically join 'members group'
- members groups is moderated
- this group cannot post new topics and can only reply
- one successful post promotes the member to another group
- that other group has full 'normal' access to the forum

Bots only post once, the above tactic should stop them in their tracks. 8)
