On the whole there seems to be very little problem buying and selling from other forum members, probably due to the above average good temperament of ATR owners but on occasion peoples word has not been their bond.

I'm quite happy to police this and I think we should introduce a selling code of conduct that if broken will ban all parties involved in seeing the For Sale boards.

I was thinking along the lines of adding to the existing code of practice, things like:

Advert must have a price.

Operating a first come first serve policy so the first person to confirm they want to goods is the buyer.

The ability to report to the Mods people who piss you around.

what do you guys think?

Sounds fair G, once an agreement has been made, the seller/ buyer should post SOLD in the thread and mods should either lock thread or remove to stop any gazumping etc.

Another forum I use has a "buying/selling feedback" forum, where people go in and either praise or diss a buyer/seller. Usually the thread name is the buyer or seller, and people just add their thoughts to it.

Also all for threads being locked, but I hate it when people edit the price out of their thread after they've sold their item - these can give a good indication of what stuff's worth.
ATR - for corners and occasional motorway
Octy RS - for motorway and occasional corners

Altea XL - for carrying sideboards and doing 50MPG
