Hi!
New owner of a 171k mile x reg type r :) For the milage the car has, the 9 previous owners have a lot of paperwork dating back to 2002 and the interior is in good shape apart from the dash which has light sun damage.

I bought this car from South Wales and had a long 5 hour drive back to kent, the car was fautless and felt great all the way

The car is mostly stock apart from a single exit decat which is quite loud on throttle but not unbarable

It doesnt want to let me upload pictures for some reason, server returned error :(

I do have some questions

Is it worth getting a 200cell cat from solidfab? £500 seems a bit steep when ebay says the standard cat is £67

Do the systems for the CL1 euro R fit the type r if so how hard is it to get one? Fujistubo and HKS do nice systems that sound good

Is there a post anywhere that shows how to fit a new air con fan resistor thing? Looks like heat fins and on the back is a 3 pin plug

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the club.

The reason for the price difference is that the eBay one isn't really worth the money and probably wont pass an MOT either. also you'll more likely need to get it made to fit, which will be an additional cost as well.

Some parts from a CL1 do fit an ATR but the exhaust isn't one of them without work, etc.

And not sure on the fan resistor pack but there might be a thread about it. Have you searched for it? :dunno:

Welcome aboard.

Is it seriously £500 for a 200 cpsi cat from Solid Fabs now? I paid £200 only a few years back.

The 200 cpsi won't get you through an MOT either, Alan was swapping them for 400 cpsi from what i understand, but 400 is probably what the OEM cat is anyway so there won't be any gains from it.

Greetings and welcome :hello2:

With regards to the CL1 exhaust such as Fujitsubo they make a wonderful system called the Legalis R :love4: i was lusting after this system but sadly they wont fit....at least not without some fiddling and then it sticks out too far at the back end
Someone has done it and the video was posted on here a verrrrrrrry long time ago, sounds great i must say 8)

I'm still running the legalis r system, but its mated to a mugen manifold and downpipe through a decat pipe. From memory I think the flange to the cat is orientated different on fugitsubo, so decat pipe flange was cut off and relocated to fit,and small amount of trimming on pipe exits as slightly longer for the CL1. No issue there as pipe are straight cut anyway, not rolled in or anything.

Sent from my laptop using fingers.
