Spelling and Grammar. Yes you need to read this.

Right this is a Adult Forum (for the most part) and I’ve noticed in the last few weeks that the general state of spelling and grammar have deteriorated to that of people using text/short hand speak which makes threads difficult to read and comprehend (especially in problem and technical threads). Its make the forum look messy and very ‘Chav’/common/cheap and unprofessional.

Now I’m not preaching here, after all I’m far from the best at our beloved English language, however, most web-browsers now have a built in spell check function if yours hasn’t then heaven forbid it you can always download one.

So when you’re typing your threads please use the full word and dictionary and no short cuts ie: You not U, Exhaust not exhaust, isn’t it not innit.
I’m sure you get the idea :idea:

If you can’t spend the time to fully construct a sentence and you’re asking for help then how do you expect people to spend the time to respond, ignorance is not an excuse.

Always try and use the correct spelling and grammar, for how and what I write but sometimes I mis-spell. However I don't like text speak. Must be my age. :D

May i take this opportunity to publicly applaud you and lend you my full support and backing. The ATR is a very good car, and should only be driven by well educated, well informed people such as you and i. Being such well educated drivers, it is only correct and proper that we, collectively, make the time and effort to convey our thoughts and messages to fellow drivers in a well thought out and punctual way. Once this has been done, users can then clearly understand and digest the information we wish to pass on and share. To take "shortcuts" and use "text" type punctuation is, quite frankly, taking a huge step backwards in English literature and we, as a forum, should do all we can to ensure this does not happen. We must make a stand and also assist those less fortunate than ourselves to ensure this type of poor communication does not happen again.
