I noticed on NPOC that you if you are not a paid member, you can only view a couple of Forum areas.

Seems to work well for them :dunno:

how about when someone contributes their fair share to the site only then do they have acces to specific forums???

and what about if a member becomes inactive for a long time they should be emailed to say that if they wish to be part of the site they must reply :dunno:

How would you police that :-? Sounds abit elitist to me, i understand the thought behind it, but imo it will make new people on the site feel a little outcast :dunno: (if you know what i mean)

yep and you're right, it's like that on another forum i use too :-? it's not done properly there, i've 500 posts, mostly helping people, have met a few pwople and helped them but still an outcast  the term you become is 'elite', the irony....

i'm only throwing out ideas nyway..... works fine the way it is

Just to add that I'd happily pay to use the site. It's a valuable resource for ideas, help and banter for me.

Other than Pistonheads, it's the only site I post on.

Certainly having an extra few sections for the paying members (especially the for sale sections).

It's funny isn't it. Some times you'll see people post completely pointless posts just to boost their post count. why? who knows.. maybe to feel part of the 'in' crowd.

I'd rather post quality posts that I've actually thought about. I think some time next year that'll happen

Perhaps the technical areas can be accessed by the non payers but you can't post in them? I'll join at some point, just haven't got round to it yet.

Would probably stop the silly questions being asked over and over, I'm learning to search better since having a batch of threads locked  - Might keep it to the actual owners problems too.

the search aint that easy to use but you get used to it...

i had suggested before that there be word tags on each thread for better searching
