Hi everyone, new to the forum. Have been looking at Accord type R's since i was in school always loved them. Very rare car in these parts and hopefully i will now be able to buy one.

I have been looking through the forum and on google for some info on how the accord compares to the dc2 Type R. Locally DC2 type R's are about as common as a fiat punto so i have been in plenty but ATR's are mega rare so i was just wanting to get an idea of how they would compare performance wise? Any concrete standard laptimes or videos about

Have been told there is an option video out there of an accord, civic, integra and s2000.

The dc2 is a fantastic car, performance wise but just not my thing. Quite a few torneo sirt's around also could any of you guys tell me how the ATR would compare to these performance wise?

Thanks for the help everyone

Sebastien Loeb took the ATR around the track quicker than the UK DC2 in a head to head french magazine review

Personally, i've managed a 15.03s standing 1/4 at santa pod, which is about the same as the DC2's on the same day. 8)

A decent driver (not me  ) could easily get this time into the 14s. ;)

Welcome to the site. :hello2:

The DC2 and ATR are like chalk and cheese. DC2 is hard, noisy and focused whilst the ATR def has a more relaxed feel with its long wheelbase, saloon cabin and a lot more space.

Both share the same genes though, with frantic Vtec engines and superb handling. I'd have another one tomorrow if I was in changing cars :)

Thanks for the welcome lads. I will have to try find that article as that is quite interesting. I know the atr has more weight but as all you guys will know better than me it has more power and torque. Not really majorly intersted in the kudos of being slower or faster than a dc2 just wanting a comparison to go off, so when i am test-driving one i will know what to expect.
