Afternoon, just investigating ATR's at the moment

Just looking in to some options for my next car as I intend to change early next year, initially I was thinking Jap and turboed but realistically I think running costs will be a bit too much, as such some sort of type r varient seems my best bet.
Essentially I want something that has power, handles well, is reliable, is comfortable and can be taken on track fairly regularly. I want a bit of an all rounder as I run a track car as a daily at the moment and as much fun as it is on track and spirited longer journeys it's a real ballache day to day. Don't want to touch the engine bar some breathing mods, suspension and brake tweaks are a given.
I'll be having a look through and seeing what the search function turns up, I expect I'll be looking for the cost of consumables like starter, alternator, driveshafts and any other stuff that may need replacing on a higher mileage ATR. Also what the standard brakes are like, pad choices and suspension options.
Anyway, that's it for now I think.
Cheers
Pete

I believe the oem claipers but with bremtech discs and DS2500 pads are pretty good on track, can't talk from experiance there yet though.

I know roughly what to look out for, need to investigate cost of consumable parts as I would do the work myself, I know mpg in vtec will be low but if it can be in the 30s for motorway runs and the like I'm happy with that. I've always had chuckable hatches but over time I feel the need to have something a little bigger and a different driving experience, I do like the CTR but the steering feel is non existant and coming from a long line of french hatches I just can't do with that, the box and engine are sublime though.
Not a fan of 2500s, more likely to go for yellowstuffs as they're well priced and a good all round pad, perhaps lacking in a little feel but for the price they're pretty good.
I think a few choice mods are all I want and a bit of comfort, I'd like to do 2-3 'ring trips next year so anything that makes the e40 a bit more bearable can only be a good thing, the drone in a stripped out car with a tinny stereo coupled with the most boring motorway in the world (lest we forget Brussels ring road) makes for a pretty arduous journey.

It was the ideal car for me, 60 mile commute, along coutry roads. comfortable when stuck behind things, then easy over taking and fun when it's clear.

We'll see, lots to think about but plenty of time to do it in. I'll sell mine when I have 2-3k in the bank which could be a couple of months time if I have some more regular work, currently self employed so when I earn I earn well but things are pretty sporadic and unsettled at the moment.
At 30 I just feel I want a more grown up car, I love my saxo but ultimately a track car as a daily does my head in, something the itr could potentially do also.
