Hiya guys.

Thought I'd just say a quick hi - I've just added an ATR to my list of potential next cars! I sold my lovely PY Integra just over a month ago and now looking for aomething a bit cheaper to replace it with. The other cars on my list are; EK9, E36 BMW 328, VW Corrado, Seat Leon Cupra-R, RB5 Scooby!

So I will be doing a fair amount of reading on here 8)

Oh, here's a pic of my 'gone but not forgotten' teg

Just cos my driving needs have changed etc and I now need something more suited to a commute and a bunch more motorway miles. As much fun as my DC2 was if I fancied a blast, it wasn't the best when I needed a quiet 80mph cruise on the motorway :)

I sold the teg for £9k+ Rhys, but I don't wanna put all that cash into the new car, so I looking for something cheaper...but still exciting!

The previous owner spent about £3k on mods just before I bought it - I keep it exactly as it came then, as it was pretty much perfect.

Spoon sw388 16x7jj wheels and the tyres [I sold these to make a bit of the cash I spent on it back, but they did look sweet]
Spoon twin block 4piston front calipers
Spoon engine torque damper
Spoon engine mounts
Spoon front strut brace
AP Dixcell FCR slot disks and Type Z pads
RSR ExMag 96db cat back
Decat
Mugan cai
Mugan clocks
NGK leads
Denso iridium plugs
Exedy stage one clutch and F1 racing flywheel

Oh, forgot to say the matching yellow Recaros are standard and very rare - there's only 3 PY tegs with the yellow seats in the UK. Mine only had 40k miles on the clock too :)

Not sure on the budget yet, though looking at ATR's for sale on here, Auto Trader, PistonHeads etc I will be able to pay top end I reckon?

Well I'm up and down the M5 visiting the misses a few times a week plus my commute to work involves sitting in quite a bit of stop/start traffic so I just need a car more suited to that - a EK9 would suit that role perfect but there are so many about, I kind of like the idea of a rarer ATR. Mind you, I do kind of have to think a bit about MPG, would the 6 gears of the Civic give me way better MPG that the ATR?

EK9 ? are you confusing that with an EP3 ? Because i would say a Teg is more suited to a cruise than an EK9.

But yes ATR's are dam good value these days, the market has just collapsed so bargains are to be had.

As with any car mpg is relative to how you drive ;)

hmmm EK9 uses the same block as whats in my del sol vti, only its abit better, and for 80mph crusing say hello to 4.5k RPM all day long its not nice when you have a 98db exhaust and doing that speed i can tell you now, the ATR will be about 4k rpm at 80, even with a full mongoose exhaust system its a nice drive and does not make your ears bleed unlike my VTI, MPG with an ATR 30 if your lucky more 25 mixed driving.

Doh, yeah I did mean an EP3 - though I do love the EK9, like you said, I didn't think it would offer me any more comfort than my teg!

A great quality of the EP3 is the 6th speed.

If you do fancy an ATR make sure you see a few, there are some dogs out there !

And would the gearing in an EK9 be shorter again ?

Saying that my ATR with the FD is hardly a decent cruiser

That sounds like my car.

I get free earplugs at work, so might start using them for the commute.
