It's not advertised because it's a donation and I don't want to force it down anyones neck. :agree:

If thats the case Ed, my advice would be to rename it and advertise it more. It doesnt have to be plastered all over the forum but having joined the online part of the club then i didnt know it existed until i noticed people mentioning it in the feedback section after reading a random thread. Everyone should be aware of it at least. The members lounge should be a free added bonus for people donating/supporting the club.
what we do is when it comes to say the BBQ, the donaters of the club get a reduced price. Still making a small profit or breaking even but less so than those who have not put towards the club.

The trackday Rhys has organised could have been done in conjunction with the club. Paid members pay the £166, unpaying members pay £170. Such a small difference that wouldnt put people off the event yet enough to dent some of your running costs and make people think that making the basic £5 year donation would be worth it. It also discreatly highlights the fact that the club does accept donations. So in essense its advertising for the club. The club needs some sustainability to keep this place up and running, making people come back for events, club discounts and advice are what i believe going to help that.
If nothings going right..........go left!

:agree:

Once I've got the forum upgrade this week I'm working on re-shaping things a little, make it easier to use, find what you want, more FAQ's and Sticky Archives etc. Once that's done I will change the membership system, no more £15 or £25 donations, much less than that.

It wasnt an insult Rhys btw :) It was just an idea how in future, events run by the club could benefit from it as a whole. :agree:

By having a members and non members price it highlights the fact that there is a donation button, it also highlights that people are donating to the club for there own benefit (in this case the trackday). People know they are donating too and they prob wont mind either as there getting something back out of it. There are also non AccordR members going on the trackday yet they are still getting the trackday at the lowest price, theres no incentive to donate for them as they have already got the biggest discount, plus they dont come on here, which means they wont have the 'purchase paid membership' button, so they cant donate anyway. If everyone is getting a discount weres the incentive to donate or even join the club? Making a non members fee makes it compulsory for them to donate and benefit from something that the AccordR forum has worked hard to organise.
