Hello to you all my name is Scotty from Glasgow area in sunny Scotland.

I have been lurking about on here for a good few years without posting too much as before now I had never owned an Accord Type R however always had a very big soft spot for them.

Few pictures of my previous cars:

My very first car which also started my love affair with Honda's, Eternal Blue Civic:

I then sold it and purchased a standard Milano Red EP3 Civic Type R to which I fitted various performance mods to however kept the exterior standard and clean looking:

Little video of it when tuned using various J's Racing modifications such as full Titanium J's Racing 70rr Exhaust System and J's Racing Carbon Fibre Induction Kit

I then put the Type R back to standard however kept it and still own it to this day, purchased a new car........can you guess what it is?.......

An Alpine White e46 BMW M3, again just done a few bits and bobs to it, mainly kept it nice and clean:

On a little trip to Germany:

I then sold the M3 and purchased a BMW X5 4.8is V8:

The MPG with a heavy right foot :)

I then put the X5 up for sale a week or so ago thinking it may take a while to sell however it was purchased within days of listing it. I then intended on purchasing a BMW M5 e60 however the past few I have went to see have been complete dogs sadly :( so the search still goes on.

On a late night search of the classifieds I then spotted a nice Vesuvio Red Accord Type R for sale local to me. Spur of the moment decided to go and view it and was very impressed indeed. Tidy car for its age, requires a few things cosmetically to get it to the standard I would like however the engine and gearbox seen very strong.

A few pictures taken from the for sale ad, sorry have not managed to get any of my own yet:

Feels good to be back in vtec, very different driving experience to my previous German cars but thoroughly enjoying it - they are a real drivers car. Plan is to tidy it up and at the moment keep it well maintained and OEM as possible.

A massive thanks to everyone on the forum. This forum has been a massive help when searching for my ATR, full or very useful information.

Regards

..Scotty..

Many thanks to you all for the kind welcome.

Barry great to hear from you, shame you got rid of the eg6 it was a nice example. Can't keep away from the ATR's can you, must get a catch up for a chat soon mate.

Beekey - Yes I do miss the M3 a little, fantastic cars. No it had a 6 speed box not keen on the SMG boxes in them. I don't normally keep my cars for too long to be honest as I get a little bored fairly quickly.

Aye the wee eg6 done me proud :agree: 5 years we had her.

I like these old honda's too much, so thought I will give the ATR a second chance. As you know the problems I had with my last one disgust
I passed by your house yesterday and seen your ATR in your driveway, it looked like a good'un mate 8)

Im hoping to pick up the new ATR at the start of next month so we will get together for a wee photo shoot and a catch up :hello2:

I would say go for it Beeksy. They really are not too bad to run to be honest. Avoid the SMG gearbox and try to get one that has just had an Inspection II service and your bills will be low. There are not many common faults on them at all to be honest. I had mine a year and a half and had no bother with it at all, if well maintained you wont have a problem with them. MPG is around 25-28 driving fairly normally, 15-20mpg with a heavy right foot.

Club sports are really fantastic looks cars aswell though, purple colour is superb.

The drive was flawless, can't believe how smooth a drive the car is for a 14 year old car.

First thing on my to do list is to de-mist these headlights
