There is a similar thing running on another forum i use. It is called itrader rating.
Basically it very similar to feedback on ebay and shows up next to the members name.

we've had some toe rags on here selling so anything to keep an eye on them would be a good thing, I've no idea how it would be implemented though

For some forums you can get add one where you simply give a + or -to their profile just like eBay. However I've found this forum to be one of the best for trading. People who put their names down for things follow it up with actions. Much unlike many other forums I visit! So in that respect I don't think it's needed as generally people are ingratiated into the community and as such you know if they are reliable already.
Hey presto, its a rarebit!

Ok well a simple solution would be to have a stickied thread of just in trustworthy / good traders. Members just add their experiences then you have a solid record of good / bad which is easy to implement and to understand? These are just my experiences of other places. I'm sure others will have other ideas.

I think this would be a good way to start - nice and simple, and maybe the mods could introduce something a little more comprehensive in the future if need be.

I have a suggested layout/process for this sticky thread:

Whenever a member adds their comments about another member, the mods can add it to the first post, which would effectively be a list of ALL of the members who have traded through the forum. This would make it easy to find comments about a particular member as they would all be in the 1st post.
This 1st post could be alphabetised so you can easily find the member in question, e.g.

Quote

atrgirl
Sold Black Pre ATR to IrishTeacher, who said "Excellent seller, very honest. Doesn't hog the duvet."

Dingo_eater
Sold K&N Typhoonto Samba, who said "it wasn't even a typhoon. This guy's a lying b****."

Samba
Bought K&N Typhoonfrom Dingo_eater, who said "the idiot paid me straight away, then I ripped him off. Sweeeeet :evil4:."
Sold 2 ATR alloysto that Irish fella, who said "what a lovely guy, the alloys were well worth exhanging my lucky charms"

and so on?? Will need tweaking obviously, but the idea of having every member and their ratings in the first post, for easy access, is a good 'un, in my humble opinion

There's a 'thanks' add-on that allows you to thank a member for a post or topic, it's a kind of feedback and allows other members to see why and what they've been thanked for.

Again, another feature to come with the upgrade.

I'll probably do the upgrade over the festive season, I hope to find some time to myself. :agree:
