My rotas have been fine so far and im always hitting potholes. I really want to get 5.15 Fd as i have a spare box but as i'm running 16s my top speed is about 145ish but acceleration :love10: high chance of losing your licence at 100mph+

are 18's bad on an ATR then?
I've had quite a few big cars in the past running on 18's and had no issues...
My is200 even had 19's and i never felt any major difference in handling.

I don't take my cars on trackdays and the only time im going fast is generally on a motorway.

Fez, 0-60 is always a good thing, i have to play the balancing game between doing long journeys, having more power, and retaining good mpg :(
unfortunatly it was the going way above 100mph that got me in a lot of trouble in the first place so the atr top speed isnt of great concern to me.
having said that seeing how insane th 5.15fd is i think i might be better off stick to less than 5 ;)

Lower vtec etc would be nice though, are the vtec controllers worth buying or would i be better off getting the hondata?
Im not planning to spend a lot of manifolds, exhausts etc just yet. In fact probably not until next year.

Running the ATR with larger alloys tends to affect the handling and how the car performs along the B roads, but as you've said in your line of business you want to be different, so perhaps the decision for you is what you ultimately want to have with your ATR and work back from that :agree:

Oh and welcome to the forum

18's would be fine.

A nice set of TD PR1.2's with some 35 or 40 profile tyres would look awesome imo.

ah samba well if its going by aesthetics then thats a very subjective thing.
What looks bad to one person looks great to another.
As for performance i don't know the in's and out's of it, but if the wheels are lighter than oem and slightly wider i would have thought that would be a benefit.
My pet hate on all cars is the gap between the wheel and the arch, again its a personal thing but i love cars with slightly larger wheels and the cars lowered so the tyre almost lips the arch.

Rhys, i did look at those wheels, the only thing that puts me off is the number of people that like them and already have them :D

18s absolutely fine on mine, being lighter than OEM too, steering is much better. Matter of opinion of course but i think 17s look too small for a reasonable sized four door, ok on the EP3 but little bit lacking on the ATR.

Havent seen 19s on one so cant comment but Id say that was pushing it with standard diameter brake discs.

but of course ;)

It does tends to be the general consensuson the forum though, or at least has been in the past. Having been on here for 4 years, 99 out of 100 who post pics of their ATR with 18s or 19s get a universal :pukeleft::pukeright: from forum members... having said that, the demographic does change, there are exceptions to every rule, and most importantly of all, if you like it who cares? I ran lime green track wheels for a while so I can't judge anybody

These are the wheels that are catching my eye at the moment.
I changed the colour of them to see what they would be like with black centres.

Anything less than 40 will be a nightmare. Keep it 42-60 if running 17's. If running 18's with less than 50 offset, you'll be restricted on tyre size choice, therefore brands and price.

sorry having a dumb moment but why does offset affect what size tyre i can have? i thought that was to do with the width ie 205,215 etc?

i could always use spacers i guess to push the offset out if thats needed... so a 10mm spacer to give me et50?

And those arches would be lovely... i sense you would need a custom set made though...
