They need properly setting up to get the best from them and the correct type of tyres. ;)

They shouldn't be 'twitchy'.........

And they are adjustable on the toe angles front AND back. :agree:
Lapping!

You guys are all well more experienced than I am so obviously will know how these should be set-up and how they feel.

Maybe my use of the word 'twitchy' didn't describe the experience correctly. Or maybe it did, I'm not sure. As a layman it was about how if felt under 'undulation', which I felt was down to the hardness of the setup. So because every bump is hard, it felt like it was bouncing, if that makes sense.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with the tyres as the new Team Dynamic wheels I bought included brand new Falken ZE914's. I know the Potenza REO range is one of the preferred ones, but can the Falkens be that bad?

Can somebody explain in layman terms what the images mean? I'm guessing it means from 'all over the palce' to 'true and straight' on the front only. Anyway, as the BM has now sold and the ATR is my 'new' daily, I'll contact Stevie at Grinspeed and see if he can do an FRSU on it.

So you've had the tracking done and that's the result?
If so have you driven it since and if the the tyres are too soft on the side wall then they could make it 'feel' wishy washy, especially if they are under inflated. ;)

ATR's can be touchy on tyres and tracking. :agree:

Also what's your rear toe like? :dunno:

Hi Pete, thanks for picking this up.

No mate, Ive not had the tracking done. Sam originally thought that nothing had been done with the geo for maybe a couple of years, until I found a receipt from last June where the adjustments in the images above were made.

So the front arms were changed and then what we are looking at how the front was set almost 12 months ago. I (nor Sam I guess) have no idea what the rear is but I'd hazard that its miles out. Without going out to look I'm pretty sure the tyre load rating is 94, so reasonably firm and tyres are correctly inflated.

My intention is to get it in for a full FRSU set up with Grinspeed. I'm assuming that BC Racing coilovers will allow for camber and toe adjustment, but I'm not sure. Is this a good/bad idea? If so then Grinspeed or Vtec Direct?

Cheers,

Paul.

Coil overs won't adjust the camber, nor the toe.
And ignoring the loading what are the make and model of tyre on the car? :dunno:

Hi Pete, I thought BS Racing coilovers had camber adjustment but I don't know for sure. The current stance definitely looks like it has camber. Anyway the tyres are Falken ZE914's.

I think I'll just get it into Grinspeed and ask Stevie to do his best with whats there. I'm pretty sure he cant make it any worse.

Cheers,

Paul.

New logbook arrived yesterday, allowing me to assign my plate tonight.

Images are old rear badge and plate, new rear badge and plate.

Old front, new front.

ATR camber is set by the length of the arms at the back, top OR bottom. And the front can only be changed by using adjustable ball joints.
As standard camber is not adjustable, only the toe angles front and rear but the rear will probably be rusted solid!

Come on Sam, I'm sure Ive mentioned that I don't really want to show it until I have had the niggly body issues sorted. Be patient :-) should be around the end of May when I get my bonus.

Ive not yet figured how to convert and up images at a better resolution. The size limit is a pita.

Thanks for that Pete, rusted solid, just what I need!!! I'm starting to think that VD might be a better option as I'm guessing they will be more familiar with this model.

Ah right, got you now Craig. Do you know I'd never even noticed yours. As I was fitting mine last night I was thinking to myself how come this surface is only about 2/3rds the size it should be, so I googled a few images and they were all the same as mine.

So whats the story here? I guess there isn't really one except that's just how it was designed.

I'm assuming that yours is a 'show' plate?

cheers,

Paul.

Hi Craig, yeah I thought that, I meant did you have to order that as a show plate, or does that size comply?
