I'm beginning to see the merits in every/any colour. It's more about how well looked after the car is. The care and effort shines through on all colours.

Very true, even though Red Pre's are the fastest.... ;)/>

How does it handle speed bumps toyracer? Looking at it, I think mine is lower. I don't know the exact height and the guy I got it from couldn't tell me. I definitely want to soften it up a little at least.

And I don't plan on any dinks. But accidents do happen.

I got my insurance sorted yesterday. £775 for the year up front. That was through comparison sites. The option for pay monthly, was, wait for it,..........£3422!!!! And that's not a typeo. Seriously!!!! I have zero no claims, as I've always went as a named driver. But that must have been some sort of joke. Just glad I had the £££'s to pay it right away.
And if Tim sees this. I tried phoning prestige but apparently your offices were shut on a Sunday afternoon.

Do you know what coilovers are on your car? If not take a picture of them and/or the top mounts inside the engine bay and I will explain how to adjust them. Primarily spring pre load will affect how hard the ride is, but you may have adjustable dampers as well. On some models height and preload can be set independently of each other...

I know what coilovers are, but when it comes to changing/adjusting them I think I'll leave it to someone who knows better. My ATR is in a garage just now. I wanted to get a brand new timing belt kit for piece of mind. I'm gonna talk to him about the ride height when I go to pick it up. I've seen the top mounts and struts in the engine bay. But didn't want to tamper with them. Cheers anyway.

Where are u located Craig? I'm in Glasgow. If there's someone on here that doesn't stay too far away and could set up the car for good handling, but also practical use on potholed, speed bumped roads, then I'd definitely be interested to come see you.

What coilovers are they mate? Fair play not wanting to do it yourself, you could get it corner weighted and full geometry set up done at the same time for £150.00 I reckon. Most people don't corner weight, because they want the car to sit at a balanced height but if your coilovers allow it then I recommend it for a well balanced handling car.

Go to Kenneth Brown in Hillington.

I wouldn't take a car anywhere else to get suspension set up

TFO Looks like that suspension is way too low. Dampers are probably wound up silly hard to try & prevent arch rub/bottoming out- hence the sideways moment....

Also what tyres is it on?

Probably needs raising a good 30mm, equalling up front-to-rear & the dampers winding off a bit...

Corner weighting Id consider a waste of time on anything other than a fully stripped & dedicated track car....

The car is away just now, had to leave it at the garage. Won't be able to check the tyres and coilovers until I get it back. But I read up on Kenneth brown, and that sounds like the place I'm looking for. Cheers frazz. I just need to hope they can fit me in on Friday. But thanks for the info guys. Much appreciated. 👍😀 I'll see if I can get a look under it when I go to pick it up. Which is about 17:00 today. I'll keep you posted.

This is why originally I was aiming for an ATR that's as standard as possible. But once I viewed it, and test drove it, I was sure I could bring this car back to its glory. Rough round the edges, but the potential is there.

Even when she was on standard suspension and I had a Mongoose exhaust fitted, I could not straddle speed humps any more. So I stopped and now go over them offset. ;)

Plus its the front brace that limits the height I can run my car as there is 'only' 50mm of road clearance, any lower and it can rub the road.... :D

Thanks.

I've set mine to be level with no one in her and then the front drivers side 5mm higher, to account for my weight. ;)

Mine has a UltraRacing front brace and is a bit lower than Petes, I don't tend to have any issues with bumps as long as you don't drive over them like an idiot.

Even in my puma I crept over speed bumps. But I would straddle them. Am I better aiming to have one side fully on and the other fully off of the speed bump? This is already my new pride and joy, I won't be doing stupid things with it.

A guy in halfords asked if I was a rare car collector because of my 2 most recent cars. 😂😂😂

Sorry about the "u"'s. It happens when I'm rushing a reply. I'm a textaholic as well. It's taken me a lot of effort to cut out the text talk with a lot of words. I'm trying my best.

Yeah, I feel you there. I think it's the state of the roads in Britain that's the problem. I've never drove in or around London, but I do know glasgow is really bad. The full road network needs ripped up and relaid. I do know of a few good roads for a blast, and I plan on finding many more. Once the better weather comes in, I'll be out testing the cars capabilities. Just need to get it to where I want it to be first, before I really push the limits.
